I have had a chance to live in both cities for a very long time. Kampala is far better interms of infrastructures but very disorganised and poor roads and dirty streets. Kigali is just organised with clean streets but with the direction it is taking, with in a few years it will be far ahead of Kampala.

I travel to both countries. Kigali is clean, green, smart, and organized. Kampala is rubish, beggars everywhere, noise, pollution, street vendors, a bunch of indiscipline, and hell of boda boda riders who make it even worse

Kampala is lively and more developed. Kigali is organized with rule of law working. Beautiful roads and pavements. Kampala is a city which is open to everyone one, you can enter and start making money right away which is not the case in Kigali. In terms of size, Kampala is bigger, forget what the Map says. Kampala has outgrown its size and taken up its metropolitan areas. Kampala just needs to do a few things which is very possible and we will never talk about this debate again. I vote Kampala👍🏾

The gdp per capita and other indicators and pretty much same with uganda… but the huge difference is the corruption… but well in fact… it makes sence.. if there is a million dollar to build roads all all goes to build them it makes it huge difference compared to when half of the money ate on bribes

I am Ugandan but I feel bad comparing Kigali to a dirty disorganized city like kla! Kigali is in another league, it should be compared to nice European cities. It is a beautiful city overall.

There are no big differences! Kigali is far behind Uganda on trading perspective. The difference is that Kigali or Rwanda, in general they are more organised than Uganda. Greenness, Kampala is doing better. Soon, it will be cleaner and will passover Kigali. 🇺🇬 🇷🇼

I lived in both cities for years .. as a foreign visitor in kigali - you will like it because everything is fake and acted out and kigali is the stage .. and made to impress the visitor! Kigali invests alot of money for this "image". Local rwandans cannot say what they feel but have to say or do as told by their leaders. Kampala on the other hand, is authentic .. chaotic and corrupt. so kigali is meant to impress foreigners whereas uganda is genuinely for ugandans and other africans. You will find more rwandan refugees in uganda than the entire rwandan population in rwanda.
