    I honestly can't remember the last time I actually, genuinely enjoyed someone's riffs in a gear review video. Everything I heard in this was delectable as all heck. Kudos, guys.

    Thanks Brother! Your vids helped me decide on Kiesel. Yesterday I picked up 2. One Aries multi scale 6 string maclean yellow with black limba neck from Jeff's private collection that he was kind enough to let go for me and an Aries 6 string floyd in Keisel green. Jeff took a break from his work and came out and we talked for some time. I have to say that I'm more than impressed with his attitude, knowledge and helpfullness. I seriously couldn't be happier with my purchases. After owning every axe under the sun over a 30 year period, these are some serious standouts and blow most everything out of the water. Thanks again for your help and these videos.

    While I realize that the original review (Carvin Vader vs Boden OS 7) is over a year old, it's probably worth a revisit. First, it's worth noting that the reason you don't have a lot of pickup choices is that Boden doesn't make its own pickups. Carvin has for nearly 70 years. Also worth noting is that there ARE multiscale versions of the Vader. Oh, and ever tried to lean a Boden against your amp while you take a break?

    so how exactly does chambered body affect the tone, feeling, etc? Haven`t found any local shops to try out. I know they are really loud by themselves and can be played like acoustic ones, but who cares

    can`t decide,what would fit my needs better. I`ve always been playing on 6 string guitar 25.5 uniform scale but realize that for 7 string guitar 27 is better, so that I have to choose between 27 and multiscale (25.5 to 27). I need shredding and heavy riffs as well. Can`t try both variants before buying

    You can't go wrong either way but personally, I like 27 uniform AND I play E standard with 10s AND I have small hands AND I like to shred... I also came from a 25.5 inch 6string (with 9s) and it takes just a tiny bit more stretching and a tiny bit more hand strength. I also love they way it sounds snappier so like I said, I like 27 inch flat.

    thanks for sharing your experience! I also have small hands, and use 10s on 25.5 E standard right now. I think I`ll be able getting used to 7 string 27 scale as well!

    Personally after getting my kiesel aries multiscale 7 string, I don't think I'd ever get another extended range guitar that wasn't multiscale. They barely even take getting used to, make chord extensions easier, shredding easier, while retaining that tight snappiness on the low end. It's not the end of the world though as I still play my agile 7 string flat 27" scale from time to time and like that guitar as well.

    I played one of these at Namm and loved it. Super comfortably and insanely light. The pickups are ridiculously good too. I wasn't using the strap though. It kinda looks like it might get in the way of the bridge/tuning pegs. Is that the case when you have it at the bottom strap peg? Also, another question or two (sorry!). I'm interested in a multi scale, and like the minor multi scale that Chris Letchford uses. I saw you played one of the new Boden OS imports which looks similar to that (inch scale difference?). I sometimes have problems with fretting chords near the top of the neck and fingers not fitting comfortably and twang (might be the poopy ibanez neck i have...which is not a wizard...finger strength is pretty darn good). Does the multi scale/EndurNeck eliminate some of that stress? And how big of a transition is it from the Vader neck to the EndurNeck? Thanks man and good work! Keep the vids coming!

    How does the build quality of these compare to say an Ibanez Prestige? Is it about on par? Considerably lower? I'm pretty interested but I'm not sure if I should be cautious because it's made in Korea.

    The OS are built pretty well built from everything I've read, you just don't get as nice of a finish/aesthetics compared to the other strandbergs.

    So even with all confusion resolved and yoy were actually talking about a boden, kiesels destroy ibanez prestiges in quality. And I'm an ibanez guy. Love my sz320 and my iron label s series but my aries multiscale 7 stomps them in every way. Can't wait to a order my Vader v6 when I get my tax return.

    I play in that classical position but most of the time without a strap sitting, the way the bridge is it seems like it would be less comfortable than a strandberg and you have it suspended a bit higher with the strap, can you comment on the playing position comparison since you've played them both?

  • @treyxaviermusic

    @treyxaviermusic

    9 жыл бұрын

    Prog Pogs I didn't notice the bridge making it uncomfortable at all. Maybe if you weren't wearing pants? The Strandberg has a cutaway specifically for that, so it sits on your right knee without the bridge touching your leg, and you can of course also sit it on your left knee like any other guitar, so it has more options for classical position, but I wouldn't let the bridge put you off from the Vader.

    Hey Trey, I have a great ask for your consideration. . .oi, my mate Mark-o is a presenter up here in northern Queensland, precisely a town called Townsville (no joke. it's in Australia, erm, it's named after a guy named Towns, another trade-slaver, anyhow, I digress) - erm, he's done a few appearances around town in a precisely the same sith mask you're wearing here, oi, would you be technically able to move the thumbnail from that image, render the first frame might have a nice surprise oi? Anyway, it's not important, it's just a hourus question :)

    Neck dive? Seriously? I've had a lot of different Headless Guitars (Strandberg Custom #9, Steinberger nearly all models except the doubleneck, hohner, and so on) and NONE had a neck dive issue. And I've never heard of a neck dive issue with headless guitars because that's a reason why they are headless. So this is just wrong.

    Headless guitars don't look fantastic; they're headless! Take any super model and guess what posing headless will do for their career. The comfort from having a massive weight removed from the end of your guitar might be worth it though. There would be other significant advantages too.

  • @jakebergen1837

    @jakebergen1837

    So do you mean you don't like these Vader headless models or you don't like the looks of a Kiesel period? Sounds like you're painting with a very broad brush because like the other dude said, taking into consideration all the different models they make combined with more custom options than any other guitar manufacturer in the world, and at an accessible price, I don't know wtf you're talking about.

  • @darthschumy

    @darthschumy

    @Jake Bergen: I think what I stated is very clear. If you had trouble understanding however, I'll make it shorter - definitely "ugly as fuck" (quoting Kraken546), but comfort over looks still makes it a viable option. If you still feel a need to ask what I meant, then in my next reply I'll type slower for you!
