Sure will. And vinegar is a natural cleansing agent, dish soap isn't necessary. It's a personal choice. I rip the stems (or cut them), rinse all the greens leaves first, then I fill my sink with either cool or lukewarm water (if the water is too hot the greens go limp, also you don't want them to start to cook in the sink) and add my vinegar. I let them soak about 5-10 min then I scrub then togther, rinse and repeat. I do that process 3x. My greens come clean every time

Exactly, but you only use a pinch of baking soda, the chicken broth is very important, if its the no pork greens, and you using smoked turkey instead, because smoked turkey don't have a lot of fat on it, so it's not going to taste as good, or season as well as it would, if you use the ham shank, (but mine do, even when I use only smoke turkey, they can't tell the difference)but I don't understand it, I don't know what they do to these niggaz in the penitentiary, I've never been, but all I know is, everytime one of my brothers go to the penitentiary, they come home not eating pork, and had been eating it all they lives, I don't know what kind of pork they give them up in their, probably chitlins and pig feet, and pig ears, (and all that horrible pork, that we no longer eat anymore anyways) all grinded up together, and call it pork chops, hell IDK, but whatever it is, I know this, they scare the living shit out of them niggaz, from ever eaten pork again, for the rest of their lives, now it need to be an investigation for real, because if you be eating good pork (not bad pork)all your life, and it didn't have shit to do with your crime, how n the sam hell ,do you go in eating it, but, when you come home, you swear you'll never touch it again, and you still up thug, it ain't like you even changed over religion to Islam a laker, or however they say it, but for real though, it needs to be an investigation on that shit. (Good pork is; pork chops, sausage, bacon, ribs n Ham, stuff like that n thats it, not that killer shit, like chitlins, hogmogs 🐖 feet's n ear's n shit that started, because after Massa(master) butchered the 🐖,dates of the hams in the ribs and all the good shit, and then all of the things that they thought were inevitable to them, they gave to the slaves to pick over and choose witch parts, they cld make do with to eat, because they would have starved without it, so over time they became pros, when it comes to cleaning chitlins and hog mauls, and things like that, but it did not come from us, and now that we know better, and are better educated, we no longereat that type of pork, for most of the black communities anyway),

10:54-11:21 IS EXACTLY RIGHT! It's important to help people realize how many things a value come out of time spent together like this. It even can translate into a child's academic and cognitive development as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills because of the cooking and especially cooking without exact measurements. And of course it lends to self-help skills for children to develop as well as adults that may not have learned it when they were children. Also, when you strengthen the bond of the family like this especially between parent and child, then the support system is fortified and things that come up against that child will not have the same chance to penetrate because the child has a bond with their parents and will be more likely to invite them into their problems that they're facing so that they can get help from the family instead of being pulled away from it looking for answers. This is beautiful, Kierra. Thank you and your mother for this!

I enjoy watching and learning more tips on cooking the collard greens... My grandmother used to wash your collard greens also with a little bit of dish liquid...I started cooking at the age of 14 in the kitchen with my grandmother and I learned so much and now I have my own family and I thank God for her teaching me how to cook because she's 90 years old now and I take care of her...😍🤗🔥💖💖

Thanks for the tips. I use collard greens and make. One tip I found is if the greens are tough you can use a pinch of baking soda. So glad you all have these special moments. It is precious time that as children we always member and cherish.

Honey Chile you should also try chicken broth instead of the water. Just have to be aware of the salt content of the turkey and broth together. It’s delicious!

That turkey leg is going to have to boil for more than 30 min for the meat to fall of the bone. It needs to boil for a hour and half to two hours for that meat to come off the bone. I cook greens a lot with either smoked turkey or smoked neckbones or hamhocks. My greens be sho nuff. I can cook them with my eyes closed. Spicy, sweet or whatever.

Tina Tiller I swear I came to the comments for this message. I’m like what kinda stove do they have lol. It definitely takes hours. I use the pressure cooker and put the turkey neck and chicken broth in and it cuts the time down a little but it still takes some time.
