Kidney Disease & Anti-inflammatory Use in Veterans Disability | All You Need To Know

In the video Leah addresses the issue of kidney disease in relation to chronic use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen and naproxen among veterans. She explains that veterans often use these medications for long-term management of pain related to service-connected conditions, which can lead to nephrotoxicity or kidney damage in some individuals. Leah highlights various studies that have investigated the impact of NSAIDs on kidney function, indicating that these medications can pose significant risks of renal damage, including acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease progression. Additionally, she reviews the VA ratings for renal dysfunction and emphasizes the importance of consulting with accredited legal professionals for guidance on VA disability ratings and claims.

This is the first time that I hear that there’s compensation for conditions caused by the use of NSAIDS. I’ll be contacting you about this - I have questions. Thanks for the video!

I have stage 2 chronic kidney disease but I have no idea what caused it (I’m still active duty), along with abnormal protein in my liver. Are these two ailments compensable?

I am sorry to hear this. Many veterans are service connected for CKD. Abnormal protein in the liver is a finding not a specific medical condition
