KICKED Out by RIVER PATROL! - Salmon River Fishing GETS INTENSE! (Caught Trespassing?!)

Ойын-сауық

This is the Salmon River in Pulaski, Ny. World class salmon fishing destination. As I was wading downstream from the staircase pool I saw private property signs on the banks, then they slowly crept into the middle of the river. Confusing to say the least. Can you own half a river? I guess so.. (now I know)I tried to stay on the outside of the signs but the current got too strong. Then… BUSTED!Just wait for part 2! I took things into my own hands and made another adventure out of it! Stay tuned!
This send is a result of a 100% fail the day before. No bites, hardcore adventuring and somehow just not the vibe I was looking for. Scrapped the day and here I am. Heading back up to the same area with a revitalized sense of why I do what I do. Cus I freakin love it. This is what keeps me going everyday. Sending it like this. I took what I could from the day before, and started totally fresh with a really optimistic, positive outlook on the day. On these trips nothing can be forced and I think that’s one mistake I made the day before. I just gotta let go and let the send pan out, and that’s what I did here. Enjoy and keep on sending it!

    nice fish !! I live like 2 hrs south and go there alot ! its so much fun and I have ran into that problem at the town pool ! the sandy side of the bridge was private and I never knew it. I have been walking by there forever and I was told about it and I was in disbelief that someone owns part of the river area. but, I moved because I didn't want to do anything wrong. In addition, the fishing is definitely world class and the hatchery does amazing work. If you never went to the hatchery it is a must see !!! great video

    Wanted to update ya! I was origianlly going to oswego this weekend n it flooded. So I went to pulaski instead. my group said oswego is WAY better but man I brought in 5 of the biggest fishes Ive ever hooked. n I lost some even bigger ones that just destroyed my 14 lb test. I got NO complaints! hahah. But I cant wait to see what they're all raving about on next years trip. 2 days with almost no sleep, fishing til we drop and lots of feasting in between. first time fishing with them and I gotta say, I found a crew that sends hard as they can, and I couldn't be happier!

    Hey man, what kind of rod combodo you recommend for salmon, want to go for them this year. I currently have a 7 ft, medium heavy, fast action rod rn, with 12 lb garbage line, thinking of getting better quality 15 lb test. Also, what time would you say is the best to go for them, as well as steelhead and browns. Keep the sends coming. We all love them.

  • @robgrubb420

    @robgrubb420

    2 жыл бұрын

    12 pound leader should be plenty for kings as long as its not bright colored...and 9 foot plus on the rod really helps protect the leader from the head shakes, but you can get by with a barbie rod as shown on other channels. best time for salmon is the circus first week of october.(expect it to be packed) as for steelhead first week of november all the way to april. and for steelhead use 6-8lb leader.

  • @TheSkyeLife

    @TheSkyeLife

    2 жыл бұрын

    A longer rod is def better. I’d say 9ft or 8ft is prime. I honestly don’t have all that much knowledge on these rods. Someone said I should have a rod with more backbone than my medium 9ft tripumph steelhead rod. So maybe a med heavy 9ft rod?

The state stocks those fish so no one can post publicly stocked waters etc etc. There always wrong and always get a huge fine lol it sucks. You can fish it in a boat, cant get out of the boat and stand on the bottom on that half of the river. or pay the 35$ Honestly its worth the 35$ moat times because your getting a shot at those fish as soon as they enter the river. The only time there unmolested in the salmon river lol

    That’s the way 99% of anglers catch them. I call it flossing cus I think its lame too. All they do in these rivers is drift hooks into the mouths of the fish. But the reason why I think this one kinda came for it is cus I put on a swimbait and it might have pissed off the fish to the point of biting. Which totally happens. I’ve caught the kings on spoons and spinners! They literally chase it in across the river and bite it! Super cool! That’s the true legit way

  • @bradystoffer1078

    @bradystoffer1078

    He called it a flossing rig because it resembles the rig people use to floss them. A heavy weight with a long leader to the hook.A bottom bouncing rig is what it is. Just because he rigged his like that doesn't make it "unethical" Salmon will take a swimbait just the same as a spoon or anything else, especially in the lower section of the river like were hes at here here in DSR. Those fish are fresh. But salmon will also eat eggs as well. The males will guard the beds, I've seen females do it as well but mostly males. Theyl chomp up any other eggs that float through. Like a territorial strike. They will also strike at other fish coming into the beds big and small. From gobys to other salmon. So yes they may not be "Feeding" per say but they sure as hell will bite or strike many things if put in the right place. And bye "Right place" im NOT referring to flossing it into there mouth 😂 Its funny sometimes to hear people talk about how salmon dont and wont "eat" once they enter the river. Yet in the same story talk about how they catch them on spoons and stick baits in the same river lmao Why wouldn't you believe Theyl eat something similar 1/4 mile up the river?? A mature adult salmon is at the end of its life cycle and they know that. The part of there brain that says "Feed" shuts off because they no longer need to. There trying to spread there genetics before they die its as simple as that but sometimes its like instinctual or territorial. There also not all mature adult salmon at the end of there life cycles. Lol a 2 year old male will kick into post spawn hunger sometimes while still in the system. Theres no rule that says they must wait till there back in the lake to feed lol Not everything you read on google is true lol Salmon can and do feed. They can and will strike.

    @@bradystoffer1078 i never said they wont hit a lure. fly, or drifted skein or egg sack. Just saying if someone is targeting a fish with that rig its basically snagging them. You dont have to write me a book about the life cycle of a salmon. Ive been fishing for them in N.Y for over 30 years. And have caught hundreds the legit way.
