I have this camera in my Forester and like it. I have the EV6 with my older dashcam, but will look to upgrade soon.

I thirnk this Dongar not compatible with ev9 as the car has a digital rear view mirror.

are you sure the second metal disc is SUPPOSED to come out of the camera mount? Seems a bit dumb when you could have the windshield disc a little thicker and snap it straight onto that. I suspect the disc came out of the mount by accident....

Logically you're right but there's no residual adhesive in the mount showing that's how it was designed 🤷🏽‍♂️

Wouldn’t it be awesome if Kia leveraged the built in cameras like Tesla did

They actually offer it in Korea on the EV6.

No connector under mirror cover in my 23 Sportage SXP HEV

Your car has to be equipped with the auto dimming rear view mirror to have that connector.

Oynly problem is that the EV6 rear view mirror power connecter does not have constant battery power. So the surveillance mode of my dashcam does not function. Will have to hardwire the camera after all to get that functionality.

You mean with this setup it’s affecting the power supply of the Center rear view mirror of the car? I am planning to get one for my ev9. Please advise thanks.

No, it does not effect the power of the rear view mirror. It means that the dashcam only has power as long as the car is running because it's drawing power from the mirror. The dashcam will turn off after it's backup battery is drained once the car is turned off. For constant power in order to keep the camera turned on even when turned off, you have the power it from the fuse box.

Ah I see thanks. For me I don’t need the monitoring mode when car is parked and off so should be fine with me. But I read in the adapter description on Amazon it does support digital rear view mirror, my ev9 is digital rear view mirror. 😢

Your EV6 also has a red light camera warning.

I drive by a red light camera everyday and don't get an alert.

In the US there is a setting to turn the alerts on/off.

It was a Kia connect issue which has now been resolved and I'm getting the Red Light Camera alerts on the EV6 now.
