I thought with block exemption regulations it was unlawful for manufacturers and dealerships to dictate who can carry out your repairs?

Our job is getting crazier every day , i had a 21 plate boxer van in today , that asked for security access in my Autel after doing a dpf clean , so i took it for a ride n filled the streets with smoke 😂😂, then cleared the codes, it wouldnt let me into resetting dpf settings , so much crap out there now Jimmy , Late Boxer van engines are garbage, these i do have over 160k on then , 21 plate , courier vans and fridge vans delivering nhs prescription products nationwide , regularly serviced , but still Poo, 3 have had complete new engines in , 2 under warranty , 1 of the road for 14 months in the dealers while being passed from pillar to post , warranty , then not warranty, then warranty, after suppying service receipts showing Peugeot part numbers🥊🎈

That is against EU law, ie you are entitled to bring your car to any garage for repair or maintenance. Dealers cannot “lock” access to the car’s EMU. But as the UK is now outside the EU, I guess that rule no longer applies to your country.

Independents can probably pay to access the Kia system, just as they can for Mercedes and BMW. The problem is the cost, especially for one garages that don't often work on them. While the law says independents must be allowed access, the manufacturers are allowed to charge.

@@davidnorton5887 No they aren’t, at least in the EU. “Free movement of goods and services” precludes practices like manufacturers forcing people to only deal with them. I’ve my own obd scanner and I can use it to diagnose and fix issues on my car, without going to a dealership. Looks like the UK dealers are enjoying not having to comply with EU law. And the benefits of Brexit are again??????????

@@ORileysAutos Is that even legal? The reason why the OBD system was implemented is so that any body would know what is going on, but now they are charging for it? Guess the "you will own nothing and be happy" is getting more and more reality. What about Autel, maybe you can acces it with that?

These modern Diesel cars, they go into limp mode when your screen washer fluid is low also. A dirty windsceen is a danger while driving

Surely dealerships are out of order doing that without the owners knowledge? There is such a thing as a right to repair. Could you not have called the dealer and requested the pin?

Sinds 5 oktober heeft het Hof van Justitie van de Europese Unie besloten dat het niet wettelijk is toegestaan voor voertuigfabrikanten om de toegang tot diagnose te beperken met systemen zoals de SGW. Fabrikanten die dergelijke beperkingen hebben geïmplementeerd moeten hiermee stoppen en op de reeds bestaande voertuigen een terugroepactie doen.

Taxis aren't covered under warranty. Also as far as I'm aware DPF isn't covered under warranty either

I thought Kia's had a 7 year or 100k mile warranty. I have never had any issues with Ford honouring their warranty on my taxis.
