I live at 290 and 610. Was hunkered down in an IHOP with ppl. Pulled over from 290 feeder after getting an alert to get to a study building pronto.
That was a tornado that blew here Houston/Loretta, Kathy area near Tomball/Cypresswood The Sky turned green at its peek and it was roaring. That's a tornado! When they tell you weeks that doesn't mean 2 wks! It could be many weeks! Cells are greatly being affected I van barely watch this video! Transformers aren't easy to replace and who knows about these towers! God bless every Linesman! Prayers for lives lost. For now on everyone needs to plan for the worst in these "thunderstorms" The sun is unleashing Coronial Mass Ejections and earth directed ones at that! This is going to be a violent summer, FLORIDA/HURRICANES, MIDWEST AND TEXAS REGIONS. Prepare and godbless! Stay safe!

because center point is the utility company that owns like literally all the infrastructure inside houston.. the retail provider is who you buy the energy from.. literally most everyone uses the same energy transmission lines but has different "retail providers"...

@@Blasianpower2 i suspect its unprofitable to now compete with an existing company for the rights to build out the "utility" side.. the "retail energy sellers" buy energy on like a stock market in bulk to sell to consumers.. i believe thats why theres also like some transmission fee.. kinda like a rental fee to use centerpoint's infrastructure..

I live in houston. Was in lagrange and it was just as bad. I actually got caught in the inflow of the carmine tornado. Couldnt see the funnel but saw the side wall. Thats how close I was. It pulled my car across the road 😳

This is horrible, why should people have to depend on local power companies and have to wait WEEKS for electricity? These power companies should have designed their equipment to be strong enough to stand against strong winds, etc., or at least have the equipment protected some way from weather. All they will do is band aid the stuff until the next strong storm to inconvenience their customers again and again.

Quite possibly the most uniformed comment on the subject. There is no “designing” transmission lines that can withstand those kinds of winds. That’s a complete rebuild of downed lines that carry upwards of 350,000 volts of electricity. My goodness you think the electricity fairy is gonna just pop down and fix all those? You really need to figure out how a “Power Grid” works. Those lines carry the majority of any electricity going to any house, business, power pole, city light, street light….from miles and miles away. Sheesh people’s expectations. In the 60’s and 70’s we’d lose power here for months during a hurricane. Get over yourself.
