The conductor sweats every note, that's what I call work ethic. How does a musician in a grand orchestra feel when he plays such delicate tunes, they can't allow themselves to drown in sentimentality and pathos, every expression of their trembling bodies has to be 100% accurate and yet convey the deepest emotions. And this is required of every and the last musician, they can't let themselves get carried away as a group neither, drifting from here to there. How does this organism breath with such controlled precision and yet create such stunning emotional movements, rising and falling, a sea of longing and torment.

I am part of a couple of orchestras. I cannot put into words what it is like. Very... transcendental, like you are a small part of a machine, not unnatural but rather organic. Like you are part of a bigger plan and you can see it all coming together around you. Like you matter and what you say matters, even if nobody understands it, they feel it, like you're speaking but not talking and somehow everyone knows. It makes you feel big and small at the same time; individual and part of a group. It's hard to explain.

Yes, I have played this (and Concerto nr 3) in the orchestra, I sat on second clarinet. I could only wish that the audience be seated inside the orchestra, because when performing this in the orchestra, you really notice all fantastic things that Rachmaninov has done in the orchestra parts, behind the soloist! The best concerto all times, and this second movement is the absolute high point!

To me, the most haunting moment was when she turns her head towards the sound of the clarinet in the first few bars, just after the flute speaks; it is an eternal moment I'll never forget. Her response to this sound was perfect when the voice of her soul leaked from her fingers onto the keys. Thank you for such a wonderful recording.
@haikuhsu

One of my favorite things about her is how she interacts with the orchestra. She always engages with them and you get the sense that she's really listening to them and enjoying their playing, not just thinking about her next note. It's beautiful to see this kind of exchange and cohesion.

Wonderfully stated Maria !
Her triplets are not only beautiful but also very accurate so when she accompanies the winds, everything is in place!!!

Magnificent rendition. Full to the brim of emotion, stunning blend btw. the piano and the orchestra. Bravo !
Dear GOD our Father! In that perfect day!😍
우울하거나 마음이 가라앉으면, 늘 이 곳을 찾습니다. Khatia Buniatishvili의 아름다운 연주를 들을 수 있으니 삶은 꽤 근사하네요. 고마워요!

One of my favorite things about her is how she interacts with the orchestra. She always engages with them and you get the sense that she's really listening to them and enjoying their playing, not just thinking about her next note. It's beautiful to see this kind of exchange and cohesion.

Dear Sam, you always make my day joyful. We live in different countries with different culture and also on different continents, but the connection between us was possible because of the great gift for humanity--music.I have nice family/a daughter,a son and four grandchildren/.l am 68 years old but with "young heart and spirit"Four years ago I broke the joint between pelvis and thigh and after three operations l still can't walk normally But I don't feel unhappy --listen to music, read books, watch movies and TV, my friends visit me!I have been all over Europe, for six months lived in Dubai, but it 's a pity I will never visit your great, beautiful country! You are young, the life is Infront of you, so maybe one day you will visit Europe and Bulgaria--always welcome! It's a great pleasure for me to contact with you, every day I think for you,as you are my child! Take care!😘 Looking forward good news from you! Much love!🌞🔥💗🌟🎶🍀

Totally agree !
Excelente interpretación de uno de los movimientos más bellos de la historia de la música. Un sentimiento único nos invade al escucharlo.
This piece of music describes life as it joy in the deepest pain and the highest joy in that pain especially in this adagio. Curious to the person Rachmaninov who wrote this stunning piece of music. Stunning deep and beautiful.
Beyond words!
The music is magic. She is magic. A goddess playing music of the gods.
Exquisito y magnífica dirección e interpretación. Es sublime.
Because I heard All by Myself before I heard this piece, I cannot hear this without the other in my head. I'm not complaining.
Exquisite.
Beleza infinda em todos os sentidos!Grande júbilo vivenciar momentos assim!Gratidão!

One thing I love about Khatia is how she seems to connect emotionally with tne orchestra.
All by miself was taken from this masterpiece? Katia is not from this world, what a talent, what a way to feel the music, simply incredible !!
