Most people don't even get why he did kind of badly in the Burns fight. He WANTED a show fight, a WAR! He had 4-5 fights in the UFC at that point and ALL of them end in round 1 almost IMMEDIATELY. He felt that Burns was a good "dance" partner, and he felt that if there was ever a time to have a war to FEEL what that is like and test himself in a war before a championship fight, THIS was the fight. That said of course he wanted to KO burns. But people don't understand that Khamzat did bad against Burns for purely mental mindset reasons 😐 His mentality with the fight was bad. He knows this now and that you can't "play" with guys at this level because they will go to take your head off. He then MAULED Holland right after, showing he's had enough of playing around.

Unless he misspoke that sounds like the UFC, his agent or someone wanted him to miss weight to create drama, or to fix the matchups because Diaz-Ferguson was a lot more appropriate fight for Diaz to retire on.

Bro Khamzats confidence have grown alot more since the last time he was there. I’m not denying what you are saying but what I interpreted it as was that it was the doctors plans. Khamzat was struggling with the cut & looked unhealthy, frail, sick to the commission doctors. They advised him to quit the cut & essentially eat food & obviously he listened even though he didn’t want to. Not saying the ufc didn’t have a hand in switching the card but I think he meant the doctors

Also last 3 fights, title shot which he embarrassed him and even more after blaming wine. Then missed weight had the fight moved up a weight class after cancelling the fight the first time, only to lose to the smaller guy at the weight class Paulo requested . Happy Vettori got that. Then he fought Rockhold and got a W .. pulled out of fighting Whittaker twice ..

What Khamzat has to do imho, is control his emotions a little bit cause he has this pressure from people that he always HAS to walk through every opponent he has and that propably can't work against Usman and tough opponents in general, he needs to be patient.

The reason he showed up at 178 was because they stopped him from continuing to cut weight during the night. So he already knew he wasn’t gonna make weight when he stepped on the scale and I‘m sure he had already rehydrated at that point. If he kept trying he probably only would’ve missed by 2-3 lbs.

Khamzat was struggling to make weight. The doctors warned the ufc that hes in danger n the fight may not go ahead because he wont be medically cleared.. dana then decided to tell khamzat keep the weight up we'll match u with holland instead.. khamzat was closer to the WW limit but by weigh ins with the news that he was fighting Holland already in place he already been drinking water n stopped sauna work.. he even tries to explain after the fight but no1 listened.

There is a sadness/weariness to Khamzat, probably because he knows the middleweight division is stuffed with S tier gangstas coming up, and he will be unfairly compared to Khabib whose competition at best was A tier.

The first loss is never a big thing in my opinion. Its how the fighter comes back after the loss. Just look at Volk how he took the Islam loss, or back in the day McGregor against Diaz, who was considered an easy win for Conor. Or even Gaethje who went on a 2 fight losing streak after being undefeated. If you come back strong it doesnt matter. Lets say Khamzat loses this one, comes back to beat Costa, Whittaker, Cannonier, or Dricus Du Plessis he is right back.
