Shamil is 4 years older than Khabib, so in 2000 he was around 17 years old.. already trained for quite some years and well built. Islam Makhachev however, was a scrawny 11 year old kid at that time.. hence the awe.

That same year he was already winning gold medal at the tournament.. If you think that putting words in people’s mouths is a good way to win arguments, then you don’t know anything about the youtube comments section 🤣

​@@Drogas3653 In a match where grappling is allowed, and one guy is older and heavier, while the other guy is a scrawny young kid, if they're nearly equally matched in terms of skill then the older and bigger guy will win, because he gets to impose his skill a lot easier than the other guy. It simply means that the older guys who got beat were bums in comparison to the little guy. That's why it was shocking, no one expected the skill difference was so wide.

Yes it is true, his blood brother is Muhammad Nurmagomedov the one you are talking about but the guy from the story is Shamil Zavurov who is a former professional mma fighter with more than 40 fightes and tge current president of Eagle FC , in that region every one is brother and they have a big respect foar each other and they often refer to the more older friends with my big brother .

I thought Khabib's career was easy, he was well trained by his father so he easily smashed thru his opponents. But reading his Autobiography I got to learn he has it much difficult that lot of other fighters.

@@Khader-ty8kt Being trained by abdulmanap wasn’t easy. He told them what to eat, when to sleep, champions don’t party etc. Khabib and Islam both had difficult lives and had blood, sweat and tears go into their craft.

I like how Khabib instantly saw the potential in the young pupil. Even being a teenager himself at the time could see that Islam had that same dog in him to just excel at combat. And thankfully they did pursue it! These guys are some of the best we’ve ever seen, and before long we’ll be looking back at Islam the same way as we do khabib.

Others in the ufc just see it as a career and then they will retire some day and stop training as hard, they have no chance of winning, based on sheer will, against these Russians
