UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov sits down with ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto for the first time since the events surrounding UFC 229. Khabib discusses what he’s been up to since the fight, the downsides of fame and what he’ll do whenever he ends his career. (8:18) Nurmagomedov looks back to his win over Conor McGregor and says that the rivalry between the two will never be finished. He adds that he'd fight him even if it meant going to jail. Im just a yank half Irishman but I completely agree with you. The Irish pride that came with Conor left a long time ago probably when he fought Mayweather. He became a gimmick from that point on. Khabib , ferguson, Diaz are tried and true warriors and the fans have spoken. We respect the ones that have respect and give respect. The trash talk was a gimmick but if you can't back it up and then you sell out and start sucker punching older men in bars, you become indefensible. It's a sad fall for what once made me proud or my Irish heritage. Our hope is in Tyson fury now lol. He's a true boxer with an Irish bloodline and his story is truly inspirational to me.

A terrible fight could've easily broken out throughout the crowd where there were women, children and people who can't defend themselves. It was extremely irresponsible

I don't think that khabib has faced a murderers row of elite competition by any stretch . His record is just as padded as conors is. Time will tell if khabib is truly legit. I'd perfer Dustin to win over khabib personally, but I won't be upset if it goes the other way . Conor doesn't deserve another gifted title fight period, at any weight class . He wants to say he's the man , time to prove it with out hand picked opponents, he won't though , too much risk to damage his rep/ business ventures. Initially it can be difficult to like or respect someone when they seem so different to you - Khabib is Russian, doesn't speak great English etc. But after a while you realise none of that stuff matters and that it's a person's personality and the content of their character that really matter. You learn to see through the cultural differences and notice the human underneath

Lets not act like Conor isn't a great fighter just because Khabib and Ferguson are also great fighters. When the only person you've lost to and not beaten is Khabib and you've won belts at two weight classes, you're an incredible fighter.
