Key West: Four Day Weekend

#keywest #floridakeys #travelblogger
This video runs through a four-day/night Key West itinerary, detailing many activities you can look forward to on your vacation. Water activities such as jet ski tours, SCUBA diving, and stand-up paddleboarding are reviewed, along with Old Town Key West attractions.
Key West offers so many things to do in such a condensed area. The sheer amount of activities can be overwhelming and can make planning difficult. Here, you can see a variety of activities for the adventurous traveler, balanced with more relaxing activities that include a slower pace.
Of course, when you plan your trip to Key West you will need a place to stay. There are countless hotels and resorts, and I'm sure that many offer a good blend of excitement and value. We stayed at Ocean's Edge Resort & Marina and provide a review of the resort based on our stay. We discuss the amenities, layout, and advantages of staying at this resort that exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere to balance out the frenzy of Old Town Key West, then Ocean's Edge Resort & Marina is highly recommended.
Key West is a very walkable town, and even better when you have some context of what you are looking at and the history and significance of each attraction. The Knockabout Key West Audio Tour: From Maritime Village to Micro-State is a great companion to your day in Old Town Key West. Downloaded to your phone, audio tracks play automatically as you approach points of interest, and between stops, you will hear stories of some of Key West's most colorful characters and events like the origin story of the Conch Republic Micro-State. We tested out the audio tour during this video.

Key West is home to a staggering number of bars & restaurants. You will never be able to visit them all. However, we gave it a good try. Not all of them are mentioned in this video. Some of our favorite places that we visited are A&B Lobster House (Happy Hour), Conch Republic Seafood Company (mojitos), Captain Tony's Saloon (dark, but lots of character), Schooner Wharf Bar (Lazy Way), Hogfish Bar & Grill (huge tiki hut on Stock Island).
I'm not sure I'd call it a restaurant, but Kermit's Key Lime Shop was our most frequently visited venue. Regular Key Lime Pie slices as well as frozen Key Lime Pie on a stick were daily treats during our vacation.
Some of the places you will see in this video include Mallory Square, the Mel Fisher Museum, Captain Tony's Saloon, Sloppy Joe's, Kermit's Key Lime Shop, Conch Republic Seafood Company, First Flight Brewery, the Truman Annex and Little White House, Mile Marker Zero, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Blue Heaven, San Carlos Institute, Hemingway Home & Museum, Key West Lighthouse, and Southernmost Point.
Featured outfitters and activity vendors that we used include Southpoint Divers, Lazy Dog Adventures, Key West Boat & Jetski Adventures, and Schooner Appledore.

Oceans Edge is my least favorite personally. So many better resorts. They charged extra $300 early checkout fee. Just a heads up for tourists, from a local.
