bro you just answered a big puzzle for me with the section on tilting, I was seeing people fly way further than I thought was possible and couldn't understand it.

Bro been stuck at Elite for like a week. Didn't even know you could tilt the car in air. I'm on mouse and keyboard so I just saw that it's bound to CTRL by default. Great help man.

any idea how it works ctrl is only tilting down for me edit: figured it out you gotta hold ctrl and s by default to tilt up and w to tilt down (i rebound to space and w for up and space and ctrl for down)

Good on showing the advanced mechanics of the game. If they add weekly maps this game mode mihht have some untapped potential.

Yeah no bro the first trick is basic physics any pilot would agree. If you pull(pulling down) the nose of a projectile it goes up and if you push it goes down.

Im D3 and still going i was actually still dominating without learning any mechanics like chain drifting the reason i wanted to learn now is because I’m about to hit Elite and am seeing alot of people chain drifting so i just recommend from Bronze 1 to D2 is to learn the maps then focus on mechanics

damn having that drift on a different button is tough! I did LB cause using my middle finger on the trigger feels weird but its starting to feel comfy. hit elite this morning and am getting wiped lately, thanks for the tips.

This video thought me only one one thing: change your binds so you can air dodge while holding the drift button! (More easily).

Edit: the only other thing it taught me was tilting in the air (which I knew was possible but I never bothered trying to do it in my races).

On controller you can totally slalom with default binds. There is a window in which you can release drift, enter your directional input+press the drift button and hold abd you will reenter the same drift. Once you left go of drift middiar you have a second or two before the car straightens back out

Changing the keybind to keep drifting in midair is life changing

These helped so much just trying to get to diamond 3 to get the black oem cause I play rocket league thanks so much

I can’t believe I almost reached elite without even knowing how to air tilt, I was so annoyed how I would get so ahead of the pack in all the maps but when at the end like conduit or Tri city I would become last place because I choked at the end.💀

It’s good if you do it when holding a drift boost for when you land. Without that, alternatively you would probably just use a Button booster right after.

It's all situational, certain circumstances lead to different decisions. Yes, you do lose speed in the air.

I think it's personal preference, there is a slight disadvantage to having it on L1 as you may have some slight stick drift with your thumb as you press L1. I come from Rocket League where I had boost bound to RB so it made sense for me. Also, my left hand has a hard enough time just steering.

In order to tilt up on keyboard you must hold crtl + s

I'm in the place to change the settings but can't figure out how to change my air drift to RB. I'm a boomer tho so I've got that going for me.

When you are on the controller button assignment page scroll down to drift, change that to RB, keep air dodge on X. Now when you are drifting with RB you an hold RB and press A to jump and hold your drift.

When chain drifting I can't stay in the middle at all.

How do i air tilt on pc? I try using my movement keys but it slows me down

I’ve never found use of the brakes when you can pretty much slide around any turn without hitting the wall if timed correctly or even jump and use aerial dodge to flip towards that direction.

I've never found a use for brake, I feel you slow down plenty if you release the throttle.

Tried it, but the ability to ensure that you instantly get the boost to come out by simply holding the X button is much more consistent for gaining height.

⁠@@baggelissonic it’s because it’s a bad idea. You won’t be able to ‘steer while floating’ when tapping the X to sustain the jump booster and steer at the same time. Doing so will cause you to aerial dodge instead. I thought about binding both and I realized the lack of control on maps where you need to float and steer towards a shortcut. And holding the button won’t help for floating long distances either.

So hold on. I don't seem to have that problem cuz I hold drift with R1 and can still feather thrusters with L1. Allowing me to jump and maintain my drift in the air. No accidental flipping for me. Am I still missing something??

I hold the drift button, and my car dosent drift boost....
