Like the narrative on & for , armed forces personnes , with the best possible way , even though subject is very crucial & difficult to understand..to have such subject it self is courageous..thank for adding more knowledge..

*The Year was 1959, the place was Amritsar. Some Indian Army Officers and their wives went to Railway Station to see off one of their colleagues. Some goons made lewd remarks against the women and tried to molest them. The Army Officers chased the goons who took shelter in a nearby Cinema Theatre.* _The matter had been reported to Commanding Officer Col Jyothi Mohan Sen. On learning about the incident, the Col ordered the Cinema Hall to be surrounded by troops. All the goons were dragged out and the leader of the goons was so heady and drunk with power; who was none other than the son of Chief Minister of Punjab, Pratap Singh Kairon, the close associate of the then Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru._ _All the goons were stripped to their underwear's, paraded in the streets of Amritsar and later interned in the Cantonment. Next day, the Chief Minister became furious and tried to release his son from Indian Army's incarceration._ You know what happened ? *_His vehicle was not allowed to go in to the Cantonment as VIP Vehicle, he was compelled to walk all the way to meet the Colonel. The infuriated Chief Minister, Kairon complained about the whole affair to Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru._* Those days were different, democracy was in nascent stage, leaders though powerful had some qualms and ethics. _The perplexed, the so called Bharat Ratna Prime Minister Nehru instead of questioning his confidante Pratap Singh Kairon, sought explanation from the Army Chief General Thimmayya for the conduct of his Officers._ You know what * replied?* *"If we can not defend the honour of our women, how can you expect us to defend the honour of our Country ?"* Nehru was dumbfounded. That was the Story of a brave Soldier who defied the Prime Minister. *This article was contributed by Maj. Gen. Dhruv C Katoch in the magazine "Salute to the Indian soldier."* *This needs to be shared?*

There is a small error @16:50 . The Eastern Air Command' HQ is in Shillong not in Hasimara, Hasimara is just an Air Force Station under Eastern Air Command .

I think SG wasn’t referring to HQ-EAC being in Hasimara but only that the Rafale is based out of Hasimara under EAC

Indian airforce lacks modern fighter aircrafts. Only 2 squadrons of Rafales are not enough. They need additional 4 squadrons to deal with both china and Pakistan meanwhile Su30 fleet need upgradation.

After going through this episode of Cutter Clutter, I observed as the hierarchy of formation is there like brigade, division, Corps, then command and now new formation which will be formed is theatre command which will supervise the commands of the defense forces. New infrastructure, complicated structure to understand and May create confusion who should take a decision and secondly if any incident happens, who will be responsible for this? Creating new act for these May lead to confusion for all because on ground they are working under their own acts but if any incident occurred on ground, will they be inquired as per their force act or the new act? Lot of confusions, complicated structure.

You're looking short term. Transition period in any organisation is confusing. Only a disciplined force can be expected to do a transition with minimal fuss. But if you see medium to long term, this will actually benefit and bring clarity. Everyone will know the buck will stop with each theatre commander.

The basic level will still be the battalion and the on ground decision making will still be that of the commanding officer. It's just the hierarchy and resource allocation that will change.

The great challenge is to be nimble while bringing to beat all capabilities, thats what the Ukraine war has taught. US has had theatre commands for a while. China adopted theatre command in 2016 or so. I don't think Russia has it yet

Thank you for the presentation. I had no idea about the functioning of the defence commands. This gives me a base. I would request Print to run small capsules series on the 'workings of adminstration' .. not as news reports or analysis .. But as information on the nuts & bolts of administration & their procedures (& also why those procedures are important .. so people start respecting the need for procedures). We hardly have any outlet to know about administration, laws & procedures. That keeps people ignorant & they not only react badly to it, but also lose all respect for it. It spirals into a societal breakdown as we witness the growing incidents daily. I hope such 'informative' & 'citizenship' teaching 5-7 minute capsules can be presented as a special series .. maybe even through a young journalist. Hope this can be thought over positively. Thabks again.

If Shekhar Gupta needs to be considered as serious news journos he shouldn't be peddling fake news. Can he provide sources that Nazis in Ukraine were fighting intelligent war and Russians only had massive firepower?

I doubt the experience is going to be very pleasant or for that matter practical in delivery -- Getting Air Force officers to think beyond open flexible skies constrained by terrain and likewise Army Officers thinking into the Skies & beyond is unlikely to be a painless process !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
