I think arranged marriage is best especially if the guy is well brought up and from a good family. All my proposals have been from guys who are mature, intelligent and well settled. I think guys my own age act like clowns. And after my marriage proposals, I feel like anything outside of arranged marriage is a downgrade. I've chosen arranged marriage from amongst my proposals. It's definitely a two way street. I think it's important that the guy is older and mature. I think young guys are very immature and don't know the responsibility required of a husband

ILiterallyHasNoLife:i Pakistan. The guys here have no exposure. Their standards are low and their behaviour is cheap. Social media is their only link to the world. They copy what they see cause they don't know anything themselves. And they think they're capable of dealing with girls who have travelled and have more exposure. You can tell guys here to f*ck off but they don't get the hint! I've had a guy stalk me for 2 yrs. He has told people his intentions are serious. He contacted me from fake profiles. He tries to make me jealous for attention. He poked his nose in my friends. He thinks he's mature but he's a clown. I've had marriage proposals and I know who I wanna marry.

And don't have a casual relationship either, it risks someone getting emotionally attached and then hurt. The thrill will hook you in like a drug.

"You look for that person that wants to grow in the deen. And if the priority is deen. If the priority is akirah..." -Allah describes the spouses as a garment. -When you go to a store and you see a shirt, you don't say that this shirt has potential. I can cut it up and make it look good. -Character (khuluq) is important. Don't go for the people who are strict and think everyone else is wrong. Rather look for the one who has good character and regard for the deen and is willing to grow. -Make your intentions for marriage as sincere as possible.

The prophet said in a hadith "live this life like a traveler or a wayfarer" meaning live this life for what the time is worth 60-70 years of life. So marry a wife who can support you within that time for the hereafter not the dunya. Beauty, money and lineage if for dunya enjoyment. Religion and Good character is for the eternity in Jannah inshallah.

They exist, I think they've just lived long enough to be incredibly social. So Deen doesn't show up in the stereotypical manner.

Amatullah Amatullah Don’t over analyse too much, only Allah knows what’s in our hearts. just find a pious spouse or help someone who isn’t to be the best muslimah they can be.

But where I’m from, status is also correlated with the reasonableness of in-laws. THAT’s why my family is looking for someone with status for me

I’m having a hard time understanding how to go about getting to know someone and deciding if this person is the one I should marry if we can not also connect emotionally .. or “alone “ … like wouldn’t it be weird for me to be on a date with someone and we got people watching us? How can we be ourselves … help me understand. This seems way to complicated. I want to go about this the most righteous way but also realistic ..

You’ve to save yourself from drowning before you can save others from drowning!

Many sisters would say I want a man who loves Allah and down to earth pious etc but when it comes to the crunch and someone not very attractive shows up with those qualities, I doubt those same sisters would be willing. Even if they did, it would be half hearted, and I don’t want to marry a girl who feels she is compromising by marrying me.

toni va Where did you get your statistics from? 98% If you wish to remain single that’s upto you, some of us are hopeful when the right person comes we’ll have a happy marriage. You have to work on your marriage and find the right person. Ths days ppl are so shallow and only obsessed with physical appearance and wealth, if only they focused on the heart. Be positive and pray for the best, negativity will only result in negative results.

Its very difficult finding a muslim girl to marry ...

If u get a good proposal from muslim man who is strict follower of sunnah,sunnah shining on his face,body,dress and attends 5 times namaz,kind,silent and if u rejected him becoz of low income allah will curse u...money stays today may not stay tomorrow..but first priority is for deen and sunnah. yes it is a problem she must be a good muslima , and im not saying one of them (woman) should be the good between the two! OH! no im saying both! and its hard to find a good-Mu'mn woman or a man in this age. It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, “Each of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The leader is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The man is the shepherd of his family and he is responsible for his flock. The woman is the shepherd of her husband’s household and is responsible for her flock. The servant is a shepherd of his master’s wealth and is responsible for his flock.” He said, I heard this from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 853; Muslim, 1829) الحمد لله علي كل شئ
