Kew Gardens - The Mediterranean Garden (4K)
Join Kew Horticulturist, Richard Moore on a walk around the Mediterranean Garden at Kew Gardens! This area of Kew really feels as though you are exploring a Mediterranean countryside and it looks wonderful throughout the summer with so many of these plants coming into flower attracting butterflies and pollinators and giving us all such a wonderful display!
With the gates closed and no visitors to enjoy the gardens and beautiful plants coming into bloom I'd like to share as much of the gardens with everyone who can't be here. The gardens are such a peaceful place to be and i'm very fortunate to be here amongst it all so I hope I can bring as much of the gardens to you to enjoy.
As one of the Botanical Horticulturists working at Kew we are doing all we can to ensure the health of our living plant collections during this time, one of the worlds largest and most important biological resources for scientific research.

This garden is reminiscent of coastal California gardens, where these Mediterranean species are popular and thrive. ~ Your narration is superb.

You must be excited ( with some trepidation) about the gardens opening again? Will you continue these videos or branch out ( see what I did there! ) into videoing other works or gardens?

Krystal Cunningham Oh yes, very happy that the gardens are partially opening again! It lovely to see everyone enjoying the gardens as usual ☺️ Haha, yes I’m going to continue doing videos when I can! Focusing on particular areas of the gardens and I have many ideas for future content!

why isn't The Mediterranean an ocean?

It’s also a climate like Tropical, Desert etc. there are 5 geographical locations in the world with Mediterranean climate.
