Kew Gardens - The Breathing Planet Campaign

In this video, Sir David Attenborough introduces Kew's Breathing Planet Programme - a 10-year action plan to rescue, revive and restore the plants and fungi that directly or indirectly sustain us all. Its aim is to help the planet -- and everything that lives on it -- to breathe a little more easily, paving the way for a better and more secure future.
"Humans are so powerful; our capacity for destruction is so great that we have to do something positive. You can't protect the natural world unless you understand it and one of the great guardians of the natural world is an institution like this.
Kew is one of the first scientific botanic gardens of the modern era. It contains something like 90% of all known species of plants, so institutions like Kew are at the forefront of the battle so save the planet."
Kew's Breathing Planet Campaign aims to raise £100 million for Kew's important work. Find out how you can help: www.kew.org/support-kew/index.htm

Just came back from the U.K. One of the best memories was visiting Kew and ZSL London Zoo. Really amazing and so fascinating. And all my family are big fans of Sir David Attenborough. Thanks to him and other people devoting their lives to protecting & reserving plants and animals on earth.

Sir, the way you present the plants to the whole world is very fascinating and being from the field of Botany takes us deeper and raise interest in the subject concerned.

Layer upon layer. Kew is multidimensional doing work in areas that's beyond casual sight. It's amazing and has my support. Here's to a positive future. ATB Mark.

I f*ucking love glass houses. I was lost in them when I visited. I loved Kew when I visited but had a bout of period pain that was really ill timed but I just relaxed under a small willow tree for an hour as the pain subsided. The glass houses in the botanic gardens in Dublin where I'm from were closed over the summer but I look forward to returning to it. If I ever build a mansion it will have a large botanic glass house in in it with maybe even a waterfall and a swimming pool.

Regards to saving trees. Acorns, are you not able to put the in a vacuum if freezing doesn’t work? Maybe a sterile vacuum is the way forward in this respect. Also might be an idea to get NASA to build a space Ark & keep some in orbit. That way it might be safer still should something happen down here.
