to win the indo, all they need to do is high lift and play slow style like the old days with strong smash and good drop shots. Most coaches don't think of that fact that short people have advantage over drive game, and tall in slow and control game. Japanese are well know of stamina, they should try to do control game. Some of the matches they won is control high lift worn out the indo, attack their mentality, of making them feel their attack doesn't mean shit when a high defensive lift. If you play to match with other people game means you already lost the game. Simple fact, If you good at forehand drop only, and now telling you to do back hand drop to play the game, how you going to perform? fast exchange is always an advantage for short people, that is why back in the old days you always see one smasher and one fast exchange player, I dont know if the coaches thought of that but it works out. It works because thats the fact, you have 2 weapons in one. example, KKK and TAN they murder the indo before kkk retired. They have 4 solid parts to play against fast pace player: defense, attack, netkill and because TAN is a lay back player like to high lift to play with his pace (so yes, they make their opponent stay with their speed.)

jesus chris good point, but in this case, I would say the japanese pair is also relying on speed, tbf, they are faster than minions, but minions are better with their reflexes. i think high lift might work better to japanese pair than minions. goh/tan and danish pairs are the examples of minions can handle slow paced game. just my opinions 😁
