This situation is exactly why Nancy Pelosi was the best to ever do this! Nancy would've NEVER EVER bring anything to the floor if she didn't have the votes! If you haven't watched the documentary Pelosi in the House on Max, please do! That lady is smart and knew how to whip her caucus!

Imagine having a credit card. The limit is $50,000. You spend $60,000. You call the credit card company and ask for another extension and commenting - "I'm going to get the budget under control." They claim to understand and give you a budget of $100,000. Two days later, you spend it all...and now you're $17,500 over your new debt limit and just incurred a $500/month overage fee. When the credit card company calls you for an explanation, you say - "This is a complicated matter. I'm taking a vacation. We can talk when I return." That's exactly what Congress just did to us.

It's so lovely to have someone like Alyssa, who I disagree with on most things but enjoy listening to because she's a great speaker, respectful, smart and articulate
