I like watching Kevin's interviews and watching him speak cause it's like he's always speaking about real life. He always talks about things that get you thinking. But for some reason I can't listen to his music. His music is boring to me for some reason. But he sounds like the most intelligent person when he speaks.

I really wanna hear more about Kevin Gates getting his masters in psychology (while, in the pen, at that). That's what I'm going to school for, and I've been rapping, since I was a kid. I'm 27, now. Kevin is an inspiration to me. I love watching his interview's, and seeing how he thinks, and how he views other people, and society, as a whole. Keep doing your thing, Kev.

YV Bonafide I hear ya bro. I was just annoyed at Ebro pressuring Kevin for his area when I am sure people already know the accent. I haven't even listened to his music but if there's any bad man lyrics and gun talk in there then I can see why Ebro pulling up the area talk because artist should practise what they preaching if getting all that money. Lets face it, even if someone is talking crazy killings talk in music, we rather buy it if it truely represents the individual. Tupac was no stranger to jail ect and blk panther background so his raps stuck in most fans heads because all was factual.

You clearly have not listened to his music or experienced any of the topics he speaks on. No he is not a "Mos def" or the typical lyrical rapper, what he does speak on is what he has experienced and he does it very articulately. Granted u may have never have put a Pyrex into a microwave which 99% have not, but his gift is letting u feel how he felt when he did. Jeezy, Master P & 2 Pac; all have sang about the same, but the emotions and reflections are what make his music and experiences different, and that's just speaking about a few of his songs. If u have listened to his work you would know how open he is and how vulnerable he is with in his music . Unlike most artist theses days he wears his heart in his music and his words bleed through the page.

Absence of double entendres , wordplay , alliteration etc. He probably has metaphors & aggressiveness but that still don't make him an MC worth mentioning 10 years from now. No matter what perspective you try to view it from.

Just because someone isn't lyrical miracle doesn't mean they are not good. 2pac-emotion based lyricist,not very technical but 18 years later people still talk about him.
