No offence to Man U or the WSL, but I believe La Liga Women is on its way to becoming the best professional football league not only in Europe but in the world. With the changes after the World Cup, Spain is on a very positive path and Aitana is the guiding light.

Perhaps you mean Caroline Graham HANSEN, the fantastic Norwegian player who- this season- is arguably Barcelona Femeni’s best player and who may well go on to win this year’s Ballon d’Or. Personally I hope she does- four in a row to 3 different Barça players, sounds about right to me! However, Aitana’s achievements last season go way beyond just winning (as Messi did) both the World Cup with her national team and the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player. With Barcelona she was unquestionably the best player on the best team in European club football. The team won Liga F, the Spanish Cup, and the Champions League- losing only one game all season, in all competitions- and Aitana was literally MVP of everything: FIFA women’s footballer of the year, UEFA women’s player of the year, MVP of the Spanish Super Cup, and Champions League player of the season. It truly was “The best season. Of any footballer. Ever” No question Lionel Messi won the Ballon d’Or for his World Cup performance, otherwise it definitely would have gone to Erling Haaland. But Aitana Bonmati would have won hers regardless, it was no contest.
