We do get earthquakes here, natural ones where I live in Limburg and man made ones in Groningen. However, they’re not as frequently or as big. The biggest one I experienced was in 1992, magnitude of 5.8. I was also incredibly impressed by how fast Moe reacted, my guess is if you live in a country that regularly has earthquakes, you get trained in what to do, to keep you safe.

I hope I may shed some light on the history of Japanese spaghetti. This style of spaghetti had to do with the US military occupation of Japan after World War II. It was created by a Japanese chef inspired by American military rations that was, yes, spaghetti with ketchup (according to Wikipedia). He named it after Naples, Italy, though it obviously had nothing to do with the dish. In short, it’s an American military-inspired dish. But it’s understandable Italians would be taken aback by the use of ketchup.

Watching you And SUTAN has become my Saturday morning habit. I’ve cooked about 2/3 of your recipes which my family enjoyed. While there are many YT channels teaching Japanese dishes, I prefer watching yours as you made it look easy and offers alternative ingredients. The pasta spaghetti is similar to what we usually cook as we are fond of sweet pasta but I haven’t tried it with green peppers. THAT this video showed an earthquake incident made me realize how little preps we’ve done to avoid the big one because as another commenter said, earthquakes here are reacted by a freeze; like we stare at each other and count silently. That said, I enjoy watching you and your family grow up and reinforces my love of Japanese Culture. Keep it going and stay safe, Moe!

Mmmm...looks yummy to me. A lot of people care about being purists with food, but while I enjoy the "original" for some dishes, let's be honest, modern twists can often be far better in a lot of ways. After all, what is available in most places and affordable by most used to be things only the wealthiest could obtain, or was even out of their reach. Creativity and good taste coming from the kitchen, IMO, is far more important than sticking to a singular concept for a recipe. 😋🤤

I'm glad you all are safe. We don't get often earthquakes in my region, I live in the middle of Germany. But we do feel sometimes the end portions of earthquakes in the south. But that just happened twice in my 35 years of life. My cats did feel it more than we did, it just felt a felt a bit like vibrating to us, but the cats were totally in panic the whole day. I was amazed how quickly you reacted and turned of the stove and everything. I do also think, that Sutans reaction right before the earthquake wasn't a coincident, but her feeling the start of the earthquake, like some people mentioned in the comments before me. Stay safe and thank you for another wonderful video from you and your family.❤
