@@toby-rg4ti I took the message of the song being that things aren't going to end anytime soon if we stay caring and start to take better care of our world, and that we (humanity) have an unimaginable but bright future ahead, and are resilient in the face of so called apocalypses. They specifically called the doomsday claiming people "false prophets" in this. Regardless of the tie-ins to some new age ascension stuff, it's an optimistic song about the future of human civilization.

I wish it was something i'd laugh at now. I used to be so light hearted about the end of the world and just "ahh fuck it oh well" but listening to this song i actually get kinda teary. I wish we would ascend. I hope there's something like this waiting at the end of the road. But i doubt it. And nowadays i more just....cry thinking about how hopeless our future seems. That's why i actually kind of took this song as a call to action. Sorry i know you didn't ask, just wanted to share.

my theory: intro bonito - their happy young self looking at fun things of the world bonito generation - them positively graduating from their young self TOTEP - being more mature and the real world starts to uncover time 'n' place - they realized they are in the real world now and look how things aren't fun as before civilization I - reminding the people of how bad the things that are happening in the world are civilization II - telling the people it's not over yet, and we need to keep fighting to save the world

This song is actually super interesting. Judging by the lyrics, you can make out that it brings up the topic of environmental preservation and protecting nature. Take into consideration that it has been published today, on Earth day... Nice timing. Very nice.

Been having some existential crises recently. I basically have no hope left for humanity and I’m constantly struggling with anxiety related to the future, and everything uncertain that it holds. Climate crisis, war, artificial intelligence, it all stresses me out immensely. This song, somehow, is one of the only things that calms me down. Makes me realize the beauty of humanity, how much we still have left to give, so long as we take care of our planet and ourselves. It gives me hope for the future, in a strange way. We will always keep going. And we can get through this. Thank you KKB, this EP has gotten me through so much anxiety in the past year. You guys are phenomenal.

I’m just now realizing that the KKB albums tell a sort of overarching narrative. Intro Bonito is a happy child, naive and excited for life. Bonito Generation is a now-graduated and happy adult who is finding their way in the world and becoming a superstar in the city. Time n’ Place is the adult beginning to realize the worse parts in life, and realizing that sometimes life doesn’t trampoline. They also develop a form of imposter syndrome. This last album explores a mind that is very slowly coming apart, and a world that dying as well. It shows someone losing faith in themselves and humanity, holding our just a bit of hope that we can all pull it together enough to survive. May have gotten that very very wrong, but it’s an interesting thought

I think LCD Soundsystem really was the inspiration for this song and they said something along the lines of wanting to experiment with longer stuff like they did. I don't know where I read it but it makes sense to me.
