True Story!
Just bought a trumpet. Don't even have a mouthpiece. Going to New Orleans this summer, can wait to make my trumpet sing this song whilst chilling on the balcony of the Banana Courtyard mansion :)
Just got an email from a good friend (we are New Zealanders)who has just been to New Orleans and who mentioned Kermit Ruffins so I started watching this. Love the playing, the joy and that 6 string bass guitar -WOW!!!!!!
Mr. Kermit is the Louis Armstrong of this century.......period!!!! Handsdown!!!! This Brotha is so cold tight!!!!!

Yes! When I begged and borrowed to make it back home, I said if I die en route, make it to the Orleans Parish line and drop me off. I live my City!!! God bless!
Please, please, please take me to New Orleans! Y'at! Blow that horn, Sir Ruffins!
Just came back from New Orleans on a band field trip with Northwest Catholic High school. Playing with Kermit Ruffins and Calvin Johnson for the Trumpets Not Guns program was amazing. Thanks again for the barbecue Kermit!

This is great ! There is nothing that makes one feel better then listening and watching musicians from the Big Easy playing good ole Naw-lins music!! My home town !
Went to the Ann Arbor jazz festival and was lucky enough to stumble on these guys playing. Great experience and I see and feel the same watching them here 15 years later.

+Nola504 Im here for one more night... where can I find THIS at. I've played this about 20 times in a row. The kids (and other jam sessions) in the FQ have been the highlight so far.

+Nola504 Hey we did not make it to Dookies for lunch... but a BIG BIG thank you for the Frenchman Street suggestion. I go over around 6pm and start talking to this cat hanging on the corner... turns out he was a tuba player. Anyway dude tells me to have my ass back there for 8pm because him and his band were going to shut the block down.... True to his word the police came and shut them down after about an hour. Police came because there were so many people cars could not pass. Same block three doors down Kermit was playing, I went by the door and heard a song but those kids had the block so hyped I passed on Kermit.
Love

Just a question to any other trumpet players in the comment section, do you also twiddle your fingers after each phrase? Like stop for even a second, and you move your fingers?
