Every step for bending wood through kerfed cuts is shown in this video.
Here I show how to Kerf MDF for your subwoofer enclosure. This curving feature will allow air to flow more smoothly down the port of an enclosure, or can be used to be more aesthetically pleasing. Hi Mark! Really nice library of instructional videos you have here. You've inspired me to have some real fun with my car and I'm also thinking to make videos about it, and the car in general =) Thank you!

Amazing that almost 10 years on im still watching your videos and coming back to old videos to remind me how to do something.
I'm 45 years old and I've been installing car stereos for about 25 years, but the projects you convey are superb. luv your videos, and with your ability to articulate 'em for "us" novices is life changing... The money we can save on these DYI projects is huge! Keep up the great work! Kudos.
Going back to the beginning to make sure I watch all of your videos Mark. Dat super Old Skrillex song was an awesome blast from the past lol. Makes me feel OLD now.
Awesome! Im glad people can understand it well, thanks for watching! Check out my other vids, I have come a long way since my first video!
Good stuff! I doing a kerf cut tomorrow so I'm studying up. You have DEF come a long ways the last 8 yrs. Glad to see it. Stay strong n thanks again
T square trick for the circle saw is helpful for so many things! great tip
Thanks for the video. Tried this myself on a curve in the box I just built that forms around the spare tire. Worked like a charm.
This video was what introduced me to your channel. Thanks for all the hard work! You're door pod videos are coming along great
@noinimod Not a problem, glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the comment! Like this video and follow it as it will help me out! Thanks!
Thank you! I appreciate you stopping by, been subbed to you for awhile, I saw that you just subbed, thanks!
I’ve known about kerf cuts from woodworking for years but it never hit me to utilize it for speaker boxes. Fantastic idea
No problem glad you like it
I searched hours ago for vinyl wraps for cars and saw your video on fiberglassing doors and I just now desided that I should go to bed Lmao. It's almost 1:30am, thank you so much for what you do and I WILL be using all your steps to fully customize my car and give all the credit to you :) thanks again
Great video dude! I don't normally comment on videos but you deserve all the props you can get! Really, really helpful. Thank you!
Thanks! Doing my best!
Excellent job man! I'm in construction and use math quite frequently to buil funky structures and never saw this method! Love it and well explained vid!
That's so brilliantly simple with the 11 cut, ruler-at-an-angle trick!!! Thanks
Wow! Thanks! Glad I could help!
Really like your T-square jig! I never thought about doing that, but that is an awesome way to speed up cuts with a circular saw! I normally use a long metal straight edge with 2 clamps, but that takes a lot of time to measure and clamp after each cut. This is is great!
No problem glad to help
That is really awesome, thank you for showing me the basics man.
I enjoy your videos. You are a very good carpenter. There's a big difference in your early vids verses your newer ones. Keep it up! Oh, I work in a vocational school. Every year there are a few kids who want to build speaker boxes. I make them watch a few of your videos as inspiration and guidance.
Keep the videos coming Im learning alot from them. Thanks
Thanks for the video... I enjoy watchin your skill. Helps me take my business to the next level. Your like my mentor!
Wow, this video has such good info that I first watched it, I dunno how long ago, but it was a long fricking time, and now that I need a Krefeld box, this video popped right into my head like "hey, that video had every possible thing I need to know, I hope I can find it!!with the flood of sub box making videos, that's rare to happen for me!
Thanks I appreciate it!
Good job you make the math very simple you make a great teacher .
Awesome trick right! You can use it to evenly space nails and bolts too!
Thank you!
Your work is very good,I appreciate your skills...
@TripleRPerformance Thank you!

Mark it's crazy seeing this video and seeing how far you've come in production quality but still awesome content. Watching this in 2019 is crazy!

With your new and improved video quality, maybe you could do a updated video on how to kerf?
No matter what i look online on how to..somehow i always and up in your channel...this should be a perfect theme for another new toturial. Maybe with details in maths and how to everything step by step..maybe even in cm for us metric peoples😅
I love Kerf!
Absolutely.
Man! Nice video, very informative. This is what I needed to know for my next build. Thxs!
Wow, i really learned something! Nice vid man, keep it coming.
Thanks!
your video is very helpful. specially your method of spacing kerfs. you only calculated length of outer arc but i guess we can also use the inner length of arc to determine the number of cuts. so here is an example with metric sizes outer length (ol), inner length (il), outer radius (or), inner radius (ir), number of cuts (noc) outer radius (or) : 70 mm (which we want to make) MDF thickness : 18 mm inner radius (ir) = outer radius - MDF thickness = 70 - 18 = 52 mm Outer Length (ol) = PI * or /2 = 3,14*70/2=110 mm (90 degree) Inner Length (il) = PI * ir / 2 = 3,14*52/2=81,64 mm Cut blade width (cw) = 3,2 mm Number of cuts (noc) = (ol - il) / cw = (110 - 81,64) / 3,2 = 8,86 = 9 ... so if you make 9 cuts with a 3.2 width blade in 110 mm outer length the total left length will be about 81 mm and this is the inner length of a full circle. this is my formula to calculate the number of cuts.

Patience my friend ;) working on something big!
Yes! And say you came up with 12 cuts in 5", for the same radius but an 180 degree bend you need 24 cuts in 10"
Thanks for sharing some knowledge.
Amazing! You do a great video!
MDF seems to vary in quality quite a bit. There have been times that I have had issues with it bending, but I just make the cut even deeper. The board is going to be pretty fragile when you initially bend it. Just take your time with it, you add the strength back in when you apply the fiberglass mat and wood glue.
sweet video man

LOL. thank you very much for your video. not only i am thinking of using this for a box but to also make a 90 degree angle in doing fabrication for the back of my truck. but this will be later on this year. i am hoping that i could make a vid or pics of my project. Again thank you for a great video.

sure have come far bud!
very nice! don't forget about hearing protection haha
Would using a kerf in every corner of a box be beneficial or just in the port?
Great video! Hands down one of the best. I just have to say that there didnt have to be 11 cuts, if u would have had more cuts, u could have bent the wood better without risking it breaking plus it would be more round. When i kerf mdf, i dont really use glue, i drill holes on the verticle lines before i cut them then fill everything with resin. Same sh*t, it all gets the job done at the end lol
amazing video ive done alot of db drag comps and have built alot of systems but its always nice to see new ways of doing things or just diffrent ways but great video! but what happened to the follow ups?
