Dearest @AmazingAaxor, After reading your reply to my comment on episode 01, I started episode 02 and heard the biggest longest slurp. My immediate was, "Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!"🔥👖🔥 and almost rage quit again. But then, thinking that I hadn't given you credit I threw caution to the wind and started episode 03, and saw that I was wrong. You had adapted your approach. And even though I am an anonymous voice on the interwebs, you showed consideration of my misophonia, which I have no right to demand of others. For that I am extremely thankful. I hope I do not leave you too coffee deprived. I really like your presentation style, clarity of voice and approach to the game. Adding to that, I've screenshotted your flowchart, as it is almost essential for playing the game. It should come standard in the box set you received. I truly wish you well, and a most successful future. I'll keep on commenting, and liking your videos to assist the algorithm.

Of course! I appreciate your conversation! I am trying to find a neutral location to upload my flowchart, so all can utilize it.

I really love your setup! As for dual-wielding, you still mainly attack with one weapon, and use the second one as support, so you only use the traits and details of one of the two weapons. When you rolled that 22 I couldn't believe it, haha. You do need to make a Magic Resistance every time you're targeted by a magic ability, yeah. I'm uploading a new version of the game (V1.3) today, so check the PDF and changelog, there are some details there that would have affected this combat! And yes, you only roll on the Fumble table for physical attacks. I'm planning on adding both critical successes and failure consequences to ALL skills in the next issue of The Vaelorian Codex.

I painted that 22 differently in my head. There was indeed a powerful and vicious attack and the fiend does a wicked parkour move to just avoid getting slaughtered.

It’s amazing how you went from nearly 1-shotting it to lying on the ground, entangled and quaking in fear WHILE ON FIRE. This game is bonkers 😅

I adjusted my character’s Sanity after keeping a better track of the frightened condition. 😅

I like how you created a box to hold all your gaming material. It is awesome and very creative.

Thank you kindly! It’s funny. After I adjusted my sanity correctly (I gained a madness roll), and continued the fight … it started rolling like crap- finally allowing me to kick its butt 😂 🤷🏽‍♂️. This game!

@@AmazingAaxor I just started "Stepping Into Darkness," the beginning domain in the back of the rulebook. Three Blightfang rats almost took me out. It's a good game.

I completely skipped that domain on my first playthrough- I was utterly underprepared for the proper domains with no loot or weapons. lol.

Great actual play of the game. Thank you so much for all the work. A rules question: I've been playing that magical attacks always hit (p.68 last bullet) so theres no combat check. Roll d6 if its magical roll magic resistance check. If check fails apply magical effect or damage. Have i been doing it wrong and punishing my PC too much?

Indeed, magic attacks (yours or the enemy's) always do hit, you do not need to roll to hit with them. The target can defend via Magic Resistance, though.

I’m planning on uploading the pdf to the Ker Nethalas Facebook group (as it’s where I uploaded my first version. Other locations are pending, as I don’t have a lot of accounts elsewhere.

I thought you would roll initiative against perception every round and only roll for fright when you failed? Highest number thats still under the success # wins. I could be wrong, im still going through my first play through.

No, you only roll Initiative at the start of combat, that's it. The order remains fixed for the rest of the fight.
