Two Rivers Mall Location
Two Rivers Mall is located along Limuru Road in Ruaka, Nairobi, Kenya. It is a four-minute walk from Fonda NBO and five minutes walk from CK’s Eye of Kenya. It is also close to the likes of Banana Hill Art Gallery and Olpul Steak House and Grill. The mall is also close to some of the great Nairobi neighborhoods, including Runda, Nyari, Gigiri, and Muthaiga.
History and Ownership
Two Rivers Mall is a 25.1 billion development project by Centum Group which takes up 58% of the shares. Other shareholders include the Aviation Industry Corporation of China - Avic International with 39% of the shares and State-Owned Investment Firm ICDC taking up 3% of the shares. It is the largest mall in East Africa, and it ranks 7th in Africa.
It first opened its doors to the public on 14th February 2017, and it welcomed an average of 10 000 people per day for the first few days. It is a kind mall hosting over two hundred stores, multiple eateries, and an amusement park. It’s a must-stop contemporary shopping center.

Parking
The mall can accommodate up to 1046 cars in the parking lot, and it costs 2 euros for parking, although parking is free from 6 pm to 7 am.

Two Rivers mall lights up really nice at night on the outdoors. You are right the BBS mall is not as good and as big as Two Rivers. Just a lot of shops and I think it's overhyped and oversold. But it is located in a very strategic place where there is a lot of traffic and people and within 5 km outside of the city centre.

It took me about 30-35 minutes on a Sunday to get there. I'm sure any other day it would take almost an hour. And you are correct, the BSS location is much closer to where I was staying since I wasn't that far from the CBD.
Unfortunately the owner of this mall died 2 years after it was opened. This Two Rivers mall is 10 mins drive from the Diplomatic Zone in Nairobi where the UN offices are situated and many Embassies as well. There is also another mall near this place called The Village Market and another one nearby called Rosslyn Riviera mall.

I kind of mentioned in the video that the reason I wanted to visit 2 Rivers Mall was because it was the only place I was somewhat familiar with in all of Kenya because of the situation that happened a few years ago, so I was anxious to check it out. Nairobi has alot of malls. I wasn't planning on visiting all of them. LOL

Village market is more fan and more busy than two Rivers , there is lots of people in village market than two Rivers,village market has more activities to do than two Rivers.

Glad you were able to get an Uber! Looks like it was built 3 years before the shutdown. With 10k visitors per day, the economy was stronger then and there was a lot of consumer confidence. Covid changed the world.There are boarded up stores everywhere. Amazon delivery changed the mall culture here (An entire mall was closed in San Francisco). I pray Amazon (or Jumia..east Africa's version) doesn't destroy the mall culture there. Humans need interaction. Thank you Jaye.🙏🏽

I actually bought a few shares of Jumia a while back and pulled out a few months later when I realized it wasn’t going to take off. Good thing for you guys; nothing beats a fun day at the mall!

Yeah the malls are dying in the US and allot of other places, but places like Bangkok and cities in Colombia, they seem to be thriving. Seems like they are always building new ones.
I wonder if you managed to visit the Village Market mall. That I hear is one of the best as well. Has all activities in one place. Maybe next time if you revisit Nairobi since I see you already left Kenya. I hope you enjoyed your stay.

I haven't really explored the real estate market; however, I have been impressed with the sheer number of high rises being built especially in the Kilimani area. The local news referred to them as new "vertical slums", being build which I found strange wordings for brand new buildings.
