Kenwood ka-4002 in for service, something caught my eye!!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I am the owner of this amplifier and decided to open it up to clean the potentiometers, but I found something that caught my eye....
I hope you enjoy my videos and that you can support me by liking and subscribing to my channel, I would really appreciate this....
I do appreciate all that has subscribed to my channel....Let's keep the music alive and these old amp/receivers back in our homes....most of them are utterly worth it.

Nice work and a nice amp. More than enough wattage to fill a room with great sound.

It is very likely that the amp is designed to run on 117V AC mains, being that it is that old. And now if you run it at 120V - 125V the secondaries will increase as well. I would replace all caps that are 50V with 63V and i would increase the main filter cap capacitance as well for a bit of boost in dynamic performance.

I will definitely change the filter capacitor and I will go with higher capacity to smooth better the ripple and also the output capacitors as well!

Yes...that would certainly been a possibility.

@@VintageAudioFever definitely will improve in sound quality. I don't know what is the value of the filter capacitor after the rectifier bridge but I will definitely put in at list 10000uf and on the output capacitors 4700uf

Thanks for another great video. Question about your Capacity Wizard. Did you find this works better than other in circuit testers such as peaks or is just the one you all ways used. Looking to buy my first in circuit cap tester.

I really enjoy this cpacitor wizard, it will test great in circuit but remember, it only test ESR, not value.
