HE SAID "I WILL DRIVE AWAY NOW".... AND JUST COULDN'T HELP HIMSELF, STOPPED AND KEPT TALKING ABOUT THE CAR TO US!!! TRUE CAR GUY!!! LOVE THE VIDEOS!!!

In this case, it is the last connection she has to her son, and it needs to be within close view. It does not matter at all that the car is rotting....she does not care about the car - it is a connection to the deceased son..nothing more. You might as well ask someone if you can take their deceased family members gravestone!

You got my friend's dad had a duster when we were kids. His dad died and he's keeping the car won't sell it to anybody and it's just rotting away I wish I had the money to help build it up. Almost every day when we were waiting for the bus he do a little burn off! We stand there and just wait for him to come by hearing it fire up.

F'n Car is worth more than the entire neighborhood of trailers. Funny...The garage is 40 feet away...but the car is sitting outside rusting away by the day.

inside that garage is a 1969 Corvette stingray ZL1. and some rare motors in there. she is sitting on a gold mine. but have to respect her wishes.

Probably still dealing with the pain with losing her son and the car is a symbol of his life.

It definitely is a nice car. And it would be awesome if a local car club or two got it fully restored for her.. As it means so much to her.

Sad to say, that car will " rust in peace"..!! Along with the memory of the women's son. Much respect to you P.G! Thanks for sharing!!.

At this point, probably the only way this car will ever get sold is when she passes away, and the car is sold as part of an estate sale.

For a classic car with that kind of sentimental value, it should be spotless and kept inside a garage.

Rural people don't worry much about taking care of notor vehicles. My late wife owned a farm with her first husband. The property is now a buddhist temple. There were barns everywhere, but her 1967 T-Bird rusted outside. Her ex wouldn't let any of the cars be parked inside the barns.

I have met some people that have some cool old car sitting in front of their house . It is NOT for sale but they will let it rot into the ground . If they were to sell , nobody would be paying attention to her any more . People are funny like that .....

Glad ya didn't get shot. A walk around would have been cool, but it's much cooler that you respected her wishes and left her alone. Some people are nuts and probably pester the heck out her about that car. Keep up the great vids.

Whatever the backstory, I think it's cool that she won't sell it. Bottom line.. It's her car, she can let it rust if she wants to.

@@carlcasteel7159 i live 5 minutes away and her son who is very alive took it down south to start a restoration on it a year or so back . He and i grew up together and i remember the day he drove it to school . Had many rides in this car . It is a factory LS6 car indeed .

My neighbor is holding on to his son's 2003 Sebring LX coupe who passed away. Not a valuable car as I had one but the sentimental value!

That's where I was born and raised live in that little town& surrounding towns. I am 38 years old I remember every time we rode past it I'll tell my dad I love that car when I was little. It was underneath the car shed for years until it deteriorated. People in that town just like anybody else don't like people on our property. You can't imagine how many people has trying to buy this car over the years. It's been couple years since I've been up there. To visit family but every time I go up there I always ride past it.

I was with Patrick the day he took this video. I was the one that told him about the car. I can assure you that the woman did pull a gun on us. We were just wanting to look at the car so he could possibly video the car. After she immediately told us no and walked in, we stood around to figure out a way we could get on her good side since she didn’t want anything to do with us. And then she came out holding the revolver telling us to leave once again, and we did just that.

Big Country Hammer Lol we obviously didn’t come and do what was intended. We asked about the car, was told no. So me and Patrick talked for a second and she came right back out with the gun. We never once passed her fence, we were right by the road. I also didn’t make up the story? Multiple people AROUND THE AREA told me that story so what else was I to believe? Sure as hell wasn’t going to ask if her son was dead? We asked about the car, a damn car and that’s all that happened.

LARRY Ford exactly, I’m sure by now she realizes the true value of the car, so it’s not like she’ll get “robbed”, any 10 year old with a cell phone could find out the cars true worth in minutes, and I have to believe the son; may he Rest In Peace; would rather see the car restored and preserved then just rust away to nothing, I have to believe he knew how special it was/is, such a shame.

I knew a person that had a 1966 Chevelle convertible that sat in front of his house for years and would not sell it. After he died it was only good for scrap and a few parts. A shame really

a friend of my dads had one back in the day. same color combo but his was a 396 360 hp 4 speed 4:56 gears and some other mods ran 12.80s with slicks it was a cool car. my dad had a 69 ss at the time 396 350 hp 4 speed 4:10 gears all stock ran 13.70s with slicks. they were great times to be into muscle cars so many varieties not like today only a couple varietys available but they are fast !!!!

That's the same story I hear all the time from finds/potential buys and what really helps is offering to share the memory of that car with them upon bringing it back to it's original glory. Worked a few times before 😉😎

Hey Patrick, wish you could find my old 70 as high option. I bought it in Garland Tx in 75 while in the Army and have it to a friend when I got orders for Germany. It was a an SS 396 auto with a/c and am/fm stereo, white bucket seat interior Yellow w/black stripes and vinyl top. my guess is it is somewhere in Minnesota. If you ever talk to the woman with the black and white ss ask her about her son , maybe that will soften her and get her talking.

So sad when there's a garage literally 20ft away.

My dad had two of these before I was born. How would I go about attempting to search for either of the two now without any of his Vin # or registration information?

Let it be, and leave her alone. It’s a memorial and should be respected.

Perhaps she views the car as a shrine and leaves it parked outside so people can see it, may give her a sense of self worth in remembrance.

Never have understood why some people would rather let a old car or truck sit there and rot, than to let someone else get it. My father-in-law is the same way. He has let so many old Chevelle's, El Caminos, 50 model Chevy pickups, etc just sit there and rot.

Helped a buddy of mine put an electric fuel pump on one just like that back in the late 70's. I traded a set of Cragers off my Nova SS for his Rally wheels. No idea where either cars are now.

I live about 2 miles from this car, I moved into that area 14 years ago and it has been setting there since before then. That big nice garage behind it is where it used to sit under an old carport. She has infact said " no way that car will ever leave." I have tried multiple times to buy it, and I have been turned down Everytime... It's located in Floyd county, KY. Between Garrett and Martin.

Came across an old's 442 wanted to restore a while ago, guy said he couldn't part with it, I understood, went back some time later he said the same thing, car was in worse condition but still saveable, when I drove by the last time the car was so rotted into the ground there was nothing good on it, hate seeing this happen makes me angry and sad at the same time.

It's got the same look the car that was on Dazed and Confused the car Matthew McConaughey drives it that is awesome!! and if it's a LS6 even better that was my dream car when I was a kid my dad friend has one he bought used in the early 70's and had it ever since I remember getting a ride in it and them racing someone with me in it .

My Buddy and I carry flyers that say, "Hello, our name is blank and we are interested in blank,,,,, .". We usually place them in the mailbox when a simple "meet or greet" isn't possible. We come across alot of items we'd like to buy in our travels.

Its her sons car and you won'tt stop asking about it have some decency leave her and the car alone.

I'm a Kentuckian and a 1970 Chevelle SS nut but I do understand where she's coming from, my brother years ago bought a 1978 Mustang Cobra II from a lady and it belonged to her son that got killed in his other car a 1979 Corvette long story short as we go to get the title done she was torn up crying cause she didn't want to sell it and her brother his uncle and family wanted her to let it go but she couldn't so we decided to give the car back.

Not stored in the garage because the 69 zl1 camaro and 70 hemi Cuda convertible take up all the space.

They always want the not for sale cars and will beat you down on the nice ones for sale ! Go figure

Mr. Glenn has to be more careful, or we will be watching his funeral on youtube.

A neighbors husband had a 70 nova with a 383 stroker that he drag raced occasionally. It was a car he tinkered with. I believe they dated in it years ago so it has memories. He died of cancer about 3 yrs ago and now the car sites and doesn’t even get started. She had a guy offer to buy it for the drivetrain. The body has rust issues. She does not want to sell it. So it continues to rot away. Cant figure out some people. Oh well.

Nobody's questioning the fact the video says woman pulls a gun when asked about her chevelle? Why didn't you just say driving by all original Chevelle as description?

That car is worth more than all of the houses put together

At least this dude aggravated his parents so much that the son loaded it up and took it to Columbus Ohio with him and put it in his garage. Thanks Patrick Glenn Nickels.

It was her dead sons car. Its anything but simple. If she loved the attention she would be driving it or keep it away from rain and elements. Her son probably cherished that car and she wouldn't dare do that. Probably believes that he is around and wants to keep his car where it belongs. Man that's sad...

not all of us ky folk are like that but i understand the way she felt about it doesnt warrant pulling a gun but still, cool find

The lady has the right to let that car rot in her yard in peace, she has the right to own a fire arm, and she has the right to ask anyone to leave her property while holding a fire arm. Hell she don't know who the hell Patrick is or his intentions, she was simply exercising her rights while protecting herself on her own property.

Why don't you give her the respect she deserves? People walk all over other's Rights , just so they make a KZread video.
