As a UK Fan, I’m impressed with this roster considering it was built in two months. It’s good for year one roster. We’ll see but I’d say this team could be a Sweet 16 team?

Not just the roster but the staff he was able to put together is a very solid staff top to bottom. Next year as well as this upcoming recruiting cycle will show just how solid they are. Going to be a fun upcoming year.

I was a skeptic of Pope at first but he’s done a fine job with a very well balanced roster! We could be very good and a sleeper in the tournament!

Pope was my #1 choice, have casually kept an eye on him. The staff and team are in line with what I kind of expected. If it meshes, I think they're in the hunt for both the SEC and NCAA, which means Sweet Sixteen caliber or better.

They will have a ton of guys that can start. Seeing how he beat kansas last year but calipari couldn't, plus he has alot better players this year than he did last year. Uk fans won't know what to do with themselves seeing a coach actually adjusting in-game. This will definitely be different than any uk team the past 15 years from the amount of the experience on this team alone.

amen. like a breath of fresh air. Cal never could adjust in-game; if he did, it was out of fear...look at 2nd half of 2012 title game.

Cal has one of the best records vs Kansas among active coaches and owned them since he joined UK including a win over them in 2012 national championship game , I wanna get wins over teams that have owned us as of late UConn & Duke , we have won majority of the Kansas & UNC battles over the past 15 yrs . This UK team is a solid top 25 team but there’s some really good teams in top 10 atm , missing out on Chaz Lanier was a big hit they were in desperate need of more scoring and as good as Jaxson is he’s not a volume scorer . This will be an elite defensive that will struggle getting baskets or similar to what Tenn would have been last season minus Kenect and that’s why Lanier was so important.

@B-Eazy999 Anybody who knows anything about cal knows, Most of the time if there's a team he's playing that he should dominate. You can tell he's gonna lose by halftime, I can't even count the amount of times that we were down in the second half and it panned over to him. And he just has a look on his face sitting down like he has absolutely no clue what he's doing..

Pope was able to build his own roster from scratch. He drew up a master plan with a binder and dry erase board with a broken wheel. Had a few misses but Mark Pope would just recruit the next guy in line. Pope signed a lot of 5th year seniors so he’s able to reload next year.

One thing about basketball is that shooting is key. You can have a team full of five star talents that have zero college experience, and not nearly as polished shooting the ball, as opposed to a roster that is extremely experienced with highly above average shooting and its has shown that experience and shooting wins every time. Thats one thing about the roster Pope built is you cant find another roster in the country with as many guys that can shoot the 3. He can put out a defensive lineup without losing shooting, he can put out an elite shooting lineup, he can do sooo Many things with this roster its crazy. The only question to me is will these guys come in and buy in to play together to compete at the highest level. Because the potential here is alot higher than alot of people may think. This is a solid top 10-15 roster in the country IMO.

I’d say Coach let everyone know what the style of play will be and how each player will fit and what is expected of them. I can’t wait to see this team on the court!!!

I'm excited because Kentucky are basically underdogs for once. I think people are selling this roster short big time. Yes there are better rosters out there. Without proof of concept it's hard to make UK top 10 without playing any games and seeing the pieces work. But I think this UK team is definitely top 15. This group of guys has maturity and experience and high basketball IQ. They are going to be able to learn Mark Pope's system which is one of the most efficient in college basketball and has a history of hugely overachieving. Mark Pope's BYU team last year was projected to finish 13th in the Big 12 and they finished 5th and they did it with a roster of 9 Mormons. I'm not worried about fit because if you look more closely at the system this coaching staff wants to implement they are getting players that are going to fit perfectly. They are going to be strong defensively with an insane amount of shooting that will spread the floor. You will not be able to guard this many shooters at once and you will not be able to double team anyone. It's gonna be fun to watch.

The hope is that travis perry and Trent Noah will be high end talent next season to build off of along with Ansley staying. Basically what we thought we were getting with Reed, he was just extremely good way earlier than anticipated.

I hear you on the chemistry but 90 percent of teams are bringing in not just new players but really important players Kansas has the front court and Harris but the 3 big transfer all came from different teams and play styles I mean every team got through this sometimes it hits sometimes it doesn’t but I do think all the pieces are there, would like a guy who can get you a one on one bucket or a PG who gets guys open but I think this team has a chance to be top 10 I’m more excited about the defense and physicality and basketball IQ it’s more about these kids getting along

Thank god preseason rankings mean nothing, Calipari had Kentucky ranked in the top 10 every preseason and did nothing after that, you can expect the complete opposite from coach Pope.This season, and in future years he will have more talent

I'm sorry.... Not to dis Jaxson Robison. He's a good guy. But he's not the talent YET that people make him out to be. Coach Pope used him as a 6th Man at BYU. Jaxson struggled several times throughout last season. Don't take my word for it. Go watch the games. Pope will have immense pressure to play his Elites and his high NIL horses. AT BEST, Jaxson will come off the bench. I'm projecting Jaxon to be 7th or 8th in the line-up. No....he won't be the 6th. His shot is pure however his ball handling is only above average. He'll get lost in a group of players that aren't necessarily team players and Pope's schemes center around team play and unselfishness... Jaxson needed to go someplace where he would start if he's going to be successful chasing his NBA ambitions...

Your comment makes no sense. Jaxson Robinson averaged 14 PPG last season and was the big 12 6th man of the year. And newsflash, all players every single season go through ups and downs. Only a select few can maintain consistency at a high level and those players are usually all Americans. Jaxson Robinson isn't an all American no, but he is a 6'7 two way wing that can shoot and defend, and knows popes system. Which can help out alot of the other players who will be learning it for the first time. Paired with the players on the roster he is a massive addition and brings the floor of the team to a new level. I think you will be surprised at how good alot of these guys are. 💯

I think Jaxson will start day one. I’m not sure who you are going to start over him. I’m not sure you know and are just saying that. To say he would be 7th to 8th off the bench is insane and kind of shows you don’t know the roster at all.

Robinson chose to come off the bench for BYU. He was their best player and had impressive numbers against the ranked teams they beat. He'll play in the league.

A lot of yall are setting yourself up for dissappointment. This UK team will be mediocre at best. Yes they will beat a few good teams next year but they wont make it past the first weekend of the tourney. Why? Because they dont have a star player, they have a roster of 12 role players. Also none of these players really know each other, never played together. And yes they willl have older players with experience but its not Tourney experience. Butler is the only one that has any real tourney experience. This team is gonna struggle
