Filmed at the Parc Natural de s'Albufera de Mallorca.
There were plenty of fabulous birds to see, such as: Stone Curlew, Red-knobbed Coot, Purple Heron, Night Heron, Yellow Wagtail, Hoopoe, Nightingale, a Cattle Egret colony, Great Reed Warbler, Glossy Ibis, Osprey fishing, Eleonora's Falcon, Purple Gallinule, Red-crested Pochard, Audouin's Gull, Penduline Tit and more!
A lesser visited area of the reserve is the Salt Marsh on the outer borders.
Here there were Black-winged Stilt, Avocet, Little Terns and for this compilation of scenes.... The Kentish Plover.

Those little chicks really steal the show. An alien landscape, it's almost like watching a SciFi movie. We have large areas of mudflats like that in the north of our state. It is a strange experience to drive on them with cracked earth all around as far as the eye can see and no tracks of other vehicles anywhere. This video brings back those images👍

And the habitat is so dry and scorched... and the weather was only getting hotter week on week, probably timed well for the chicks as the muddy areas completely dry out? Good morning Manu, yes, the scenery is a bit different to what i normally see and film. I rarely go to saltmarsh type habitat as most of the time there are very few birds to see close up. Obviously, small birds in the distance are difficult to capture well on video. Thank you as always for your kind comments my good friend. 👍◕‿◕

Hello my friend, I get those same ummm 'reactions' to certain parts of videos, meaning it puts a smile on my face and I might physically sort of mumble an "Aaaaah" out aloud! I'm glad those gorgeous chicks gave you that feeling... they are so funny to watch. Their 'mum/mom' has it hard cos as soon as they leave the nest, they scoot off in different directions, lol. It is a very different sort of habitat to the norm and there is not much colour there, but when you sit and stare for a while, everything becomes more visible and you can see so many little families of birds. Those chicks are just adorable... but I could only see them when they moved, lol. Hi Dave and Sue, I will get round to making a video of the Stilt sometime, as I do have some footage. I'm surprised you got a signal, as it is sort of hit and miss in the Highlands. When there, your phone suddenly pings with messages etc when you drive into a zone where you can catch a signal. I do see your thumbnails etc whenever you make a video and you are making so many and travelling so so much! It seems like one big adventure for you both, which must have its ups and down but generally, very enjoyable. I hope the weather is ok for you in Mull... and the midges are only just hatching, but urrrrgh, they are nasty up there. Thank you as always, my dear friends. ◕‿◕
