KENT IS THE MAN! I honestly looked forward to watching him. I love his utmost optimistic approach to life. He is hilarious, creative, motivating, and a breath of fresh air. He had some great one-liners!!!

They need to do it where the judges don’t see or know the names of the contestants so there is no favoritism or sympathy judgment based on family stories or whatever else just food

ABSOLUTELY agree!

I am happy to see that I'm not alone in my disappointment. We were extremely disappointed in this season and how Kent Rollins was treated by both the show and the contestants. We too noticed a lack of air time for Kent, and it was his participation this season that led us to even bother to watch this season.

Kent Rollins is a Ole White Cowboy , wouldnt Expect any favors from Netflix judging on Some the Other Shit they Peddle these Days .

I hate when "reality" TV is staged to favor particular individuals. It doesn't surprise me that a TV show would cater to a more diverse viewership by kicking off the "American" contestant. I feel it would be entirely appropriate for American viewers and advertisers to boycott the show and cause its cancellation.

I don't think the judges could even come close to hanging with Kent in a showdown

I kinda lost interest when they dismissed Kent. He's taught me alot. From the basics of cooking a steak to sharing with your dog. Dudes a chivalrist, great cook, and all around badass. Love ya, Kent. You've got a fan for life.

If you notice in the episode when kent cooks the pork chops everyone else told what they was cooking but we didn't find out what kent was cooking till it got in front of the judges they definitely didn't want him on the show

I don’t agree with who won. It was a barbecue showdown, not just a cooking competition. The person they picked didn’t get the cook right on both proteins, the other person did. The other person also had a better understanding of barbecue cooking. Not fair.

The judging was pathetic. Judges should not know whose food they are tasting until they score the food. It was quite clear there was an agenda. Winner had never smoked a brisket before the "showdown" Although an outstanding cook, she should have been eliminated for the poorly prepared brisket. .

Show them how its done Kent.

Cowboy Kent should of stayed longer because the other people were giving the girl tips how to cook the fish and Shatika is a great cook but her proteins weren’t better then Gerald’s

I'm totally done after they removed kent off the show. Blown away on how judges play favoritism over real-life cooking. Yes, that part threw me off when kent put sauce on the meat and got a check, but other content did the same shit and got a pass. B.S

was watching the show. they treated Cowboy Kent dirty, there where probably a few things going on off camera too. honestly it seemed Sloan did really well, but when they kept Shatika over kareem that was just wrong.

They couldn't compete with the og Kent. Put these people out in the elements see how they preform.

Kent rollins is the best grandpa anyone wish they had, how you can let him down like this !

As a Hispanic, we are always underrepresented even though we are the largest minority group. As for Cowboy Rollins, it was obvious from the first episode how little show time they gave him. It was always obvious who would be the finalists with how the judges would speak to them

I didn’t see any of these shows but I do watch Kent’s KZread channel. As an old cowboy myself, I wouldn’t expect that he would be treated with respect from hearing the bios of the other people on the show. But it doesn’t matter, there isn’t a higher calling on this Earth than to be a cattle rancher or a cowboy.

I am highly disappointed that Kent did not win. I believe both the judges and contestants had a favoritism going on. Not only did Melissa not even know how to make brisket but when it came down to the fish she wasn’t doing that right either and ended up receiving help from the other contestants when they were shouting what she should be doing next which I find not fair at all. Kent did not receive that treatment. This elimination was completely unfair.

@Enjoyinglife06 noticed that as well. Other contestants telling the girl what to do to help. And of course the head to head was whole fish. She's from Florida and Kent up in Oklahoma. Up in Oklahoma they pretty much fry or blacken filets. Between that and the damn duck wings, this shit was rigged.

The final winner was definitely a political choice not even close to being the best cook in the competition. She was in the bottom 2 more than any other.

As soon as Kent got let go I dropped the show. Definitely felt some sort of bias towards him.

I don't watch these types of shows for the obvious reasons but based on what people are saying, I think Kent is in a class of his own and doesn't need to prove anything.. the proof is in the pudding as they say

I just watched season three the other weekend and i'm still trying to rap my head around what I watched. I'm not gonna lie, Kent Rollins is my Go to guy. I was excited to watch this season with him in it. But The way the judges treated him compared to others and the lack of screen time he got was ridiculous. I've Been cooking barbecue briskets pull pork You name it For going on twenty years. And for somebody to win a competition A barbecue competition that has never cooked a brisket Blows my mind this is not even possible. This is like a prius winning at a muscle car show. I was. Absolutely dumbfounded when I saw this. I'm not gonna say that she's a bad cook. By any means, she has culinary experience and an education. That doesn't mean she can barbecue. But just by the look and the texture of what I saw on TV.And the fact that they didn't want to show much of her brisket leads me to believe that this was a rigged show. I was also again surprised at the last cook-off How a judge on one hand can use the words world championship ribs and then just a few hours later Not have World Champion ribs. I really enjoyed the first 2 seasons, but season 3 was a big disappointment. The one judge is constantly telling people what she likes and dislikes personally. About barbecue and her sensitive palate. Why don't you come over here to Arizona? We'll burn that dainty palate to the ground. All the contestants in season 3 I believe or amazing cooks but the Judges and the way Netflix treated everyone was definitely unfair. And seem to have underlying motives as to what they were doing.

I wouldn’t put Kent in the same culinary Q category as folks like Aaron Frankin and other top Q chefs. I like Kent for what he does but not for Q

It wasn’t personal. He messed up on the duck wings. They were too tough. To be fair to Kent he said he’s never cooked Duck before. It was just one of those things. Couple of episodes earlier Kent said he’d relax on the seasoning because he believed his palate was more accustomed to salty food. In hindsight he should have just done his thing. I really find it rather uncomfortable when people start trying to insert set narrative into something that really ought not to be there.

Kent is entertaining but it was clear from the beginning his food wasn’t as tasty as the others. He got dinged for his seasoning and flavor from the start. This was a cooking competition not a popularity contest.

There is no way a good old homegrown boy would ever win. 😢 stopped watching after the first episode as i could see how it was leaning.

I originally wanted Kent to win and at the end I wanted Kareem to win

The judges are pretentious assholes. The guy judge is ok but I can't stand the female judge. She thinks her crap doesn't stink. I was happily surprised to see Kent on the show but I'm not surprised they kicked him off early. His story and experience isn't one they want to promote. It doesn't check off enough boxes.

Popularity doesn't equal skill and talent.

No, but in the case of Kent Rollins his popularity comes from his decades of displayed skill and talent at traditional American cooking. The popularity of these "diversity" contestants is all surrounding their identity and origin story as made for tv pop culture characters to features compared to Kent who has lived decades stoically perfecting his craft. It is pretty clear that Kent didn't fit in with the 3rd season theme and agenda of highlighting the story of "special" identity people.

If anything it is the diversity self esteem building solidarity cast mentored by ideological teachers, the Democrat party, and corporate diverse identity celebration messaging that are artificially reproducible hack personalities that are a dime a dozen nowadays used as tools of a party by being highlighted on TV. I did notice that kent was sitting the the back of the row. he was often behind all the other contestants. like he was the odd duck out... weird. he was berley even in the camera shot.

I was sad to see Kent go, but I still believe this was fair.

I just watched episode 2 and was totally disappointed. I saw Kent for about 2 minutes in total...

Kent Rollins was suppressed in personal interviews and was hardly featured at all. Almost no screen time. It was a joke the way he was treated. The two "experts" who judged the cooks missed it very badly. Treating him badly revealed their lack of true knowledge. It was a joke.

I wasn’t surprised at all when they got down to the bottom 3 had 3 black judges with 2 black contestants and 1 white gay woman.. I mean that seemed fair.. we new how this was going to go before they even started judging

I don't watch Netflix but do watch Kent's KZread channel. He probably doesn't get the respect these others do even though he's probably been cooking two to three times as long as most. Kent won't be embraced by this woke Netflix crowd.

I was so disappointed in this season. Kent was robbed out right. I'm 99% sure I will not be watching season 4, if there is one. The show has drifted away from it's original theme. It got political just like every other hollyweed show. American BBQ is famous for the meats, not the sides. I might as well have been watching Gordan Ramsey.

You just shouldn’t invite a well known cowboy chef who is highly regarded and loved and entertaining and enthusiastic, just to be biased on him! Seriously, great way to kill a show, early on. I stopped watching the video 1 minute in... because no it does not show who has the best skill and creativity by say, whoever can make a batch of cookies using only flour and salt and 15 minutes over a match flame. This stupid reality TV bizarre obsession with rushing everyone and making things purposely difficult is a straight up borefeast, to me. I want to see Cooks at their best, with all the time they need, all the spices, all the cooking ware, I want them to have everything and I want to see how good they can do - that's when I'll see their skills and creativity. I have no idea who the best chef is, I only have an idea of who's best at making a mediocre meal when given two ingredients and 20 minutes to do it. I have nothing else useful to offer. The end.

I hated the show since season one. It's really not a true BBQ competition show.... it's scrip.ted. Netflix only cares about gender and the color of someones skin. Plus, when I hear that a judge hates medium-rare steak..... I'm definitely out!
