Wade Long There is actually a setting in the options menu to play it more often. By default it’s every 5mins but can you can change it to be longer or shorter

this makes me wonder - did minecraft take inspiration from kenshi in randomly playing music during gameplay or do a lot of open-world games just do this in general?

42:10 caught me off guard when the violins started right as we discovered stobe and burns commented on him. Really sets the mood in areas where there's a ton of black ash falling too, makes you really mourn for the sad state of the world.

The composition on that music is just genius. The mix of actual instrumental sound and ambient noise is on a level which was rarely achieved even by AAA ingame soundtracks since the inception of video games.

Oroberus Only BOTW has mixed the two as perfectly as this in my opinion. Even if it isn’t my style, I love this kinda work, but I wish there was an orchestrated/composed genre in this kinda style.

First heard 15:40 when captured by cannibals with absolutely no way of escaping. The eeriness of them filling cages with bandits all the while you're stuck in one too, waiting for them to eat you. It gave me a strange feeling that I've never experienced before.

Nomads are the best, I always build a base near them. They've healed my characters before, saving them before they bled out. And they're the only ones who sell animals. The Nomads are my friends for life.

It's been a long 12 years but it was worth it.

@@LARESCIV I love vanilla, dont get me wrong. But the mods just fix some immersion autism i got. Especially the better crop fences. You can get some degen tier mods, but that is a story for another comment.

I bought the game a few days ago. I have not felt this immersed in a game since Skyrim.

The music is so atmospheric that I didn't even realize there was an hour's worth of content, and I've been playing this game for almost a 100 hours. Great stuff.

Track beginning at 26:29 is such a banger. I love how the Kenshi soundtrack incorporates elements of noise music. Really fits the atmosphere of the game. Also, the end of that track is so mournful, like looking upon the shattered remains of your outpost as your squads are lying dead or in chains and you're just looking out across the wasteland before deleting the save file.

Just started playing Kenshi a few days ago, and it's been a ride. Haha. I haven't played a game that felt this open ended and harrowing since probably Fallout New Vegas... And that is a massive compliment.

Even though music in the game itself doesn't play so often, soundtrack is gorgeous Main Theme - brilliant, with main menu's screenshot gives me this desperate for living, even though nearly dying vibes (don't know how to explain it other way c:) But really strange thing that catches me everytime and gives me goosebumps all over the body is, when erhy(chinese violin) comes in Like on 6:00 It plays for seconds everytime, but with this "scorching wind" sounds and rising noise coming right after, i can imagine this giant lands full of death and sand, and heat and whatever there can be, and someone lonely slowly going somewhere through them, hiding eyes from bright sun under the cap In my feels and heart, man, just awesome

god i wish the games soundtrack would play more often, imagine walking thru the great desert and the main theme kicks in during sun down.......

Never has a sound track braught across the utter hostility of its world as efficiency as this. Every song feels so crushing and lonely, like it takes place in a world that doesnt want you to even be their. Its great!

Never before has a melody like at 3:00 created such an intense feeling of ,what feels like, yearning for me. I don't even know what for, there's no way in hell I'd want to be in the world of Kenshi. It just sounds so... desperate? Very fitting, much enjoy.

Some really good atmospheric music, it really plays to the tune of what kenshi is like to play. If only you could find characters playing these. It really gives off this post apoc feudal japan vibe as well.

This IS the BEST game soundtrack EVER. Close to Skyrim, but this has such a wonderful mix I absolutely love it 5x👍! It’s beautiful,sad,scary,relaxing,goofy,and all around creative.

I don't know about anyone else but I get Fallout New Vegas vibes from a few of these soundtracks!

Jesus christ the original soundtrack makes me have goosebumps every time i hear it despite playing the game for ~400hr

5:00 when I’m chilling in the Border Zone just mining away. Or running around getting my teeth knocked out for toughness

I think the soundtrack is a _liiitle_ bit hit or miss because some of the tracks can be really loud/abrupt, but jesus christ the title music is so god damn good. Does such an amazing job at setting the mood and that cello is fucking unbelievable

The track that plays in the foglands can be either super atmospheric or pure earrape depending on the segment that's playing

5:57 Maybe I'm going crazy but I remember hearing this little erhu (at least I think it's an erhu) number in a Japanese restaurant once. Could be that they were playing the track it was originally sampled from, but if I didn't know any better, I could've sworn it had the wind sound effect and the ambient noises too.

The main theme is good and all, but the last 10 minutes of the soundtrack are also hella good. Especially the last 2 minutes, haunting yet beautiful at the same time, just like the game...

28:20 If you listen closely, you can hear deep breathing. Really nice touch to the soundtrack. I like to think a character just survived a brutal fight and is crawling away to safety. The breathing shows how determined he is to survive. Pretty much capturing the harsh life of kenshi.

Any music experts here that know how one could search for more of this type of music especially the main song at the 3:00 mark? My music knowledge isnt that great and would love to find more like it if I search strings and stuff I get the happy go lucky stuff and that's great but I want the more dark and depressing stuff sometimes too it just has a lot of heart in it
