Don't be ashamed for not knowing who he was. Today the media puts so much emphasis on new artists that everyone forgets or have experienced many great artists from the 50's on through the 90's. Just glad you are finally getting to watch music and appreciating the artists from when I grew up. I'm actually loving how so many younger people are taking a chance to listen to some of the greatest singers in history of all genres of music.

This is one of the best reactions I've seen... I like in the beginning how Lady Bre gets ready to play the song and is kind of bouncing around a little not knowing what she was about to experience. She became mezmerized by the voice, the man, Kenny Rogers. Bre didn't bounce around, bob her head really hard like other reactors I see.... Bre was sucked into the video, taken aback by what many call "talent". Women are so special and I love her facial responses and how she related to the lyrics. True reaction, honest and sincere and from someone who understands love... Music at its best

Fun “Behind the Song” story; In a 2012 Lionel Richie tribute, before Kenny & Lionel sing Lady together (really good! Link below), Kenny tells how he called Lionel, to write a song for him. When they met for the 1st time, Lionel had only 1 word, “Lady”, & a bit of melody. 6 months later they’re in the studio. Kenny recorded the 1st verse, asked where the 2nd verse was, & found out that Lionel was in the toilet, writing the rest of the song. In a later interview, Lionel adds to the story, making it even funnier. He said, the 1 word he had was actually “Baby”, but when they 1st met, Kenny talked on & on about his wife, repeatedly calling her a “Lady”, so when Kenny finally asked the name of the song, Lionel blurted out “Lady.” Vid of Kenny & Lionel together; kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJdsq7BmdtG4mcY.html

It’s because all ladies wish their men could tell them how much they love them. And so many men don’t. I mean, men will say ‘I love you’, but don’t go any deeper than that. I think once you find your true love, that love is taken for granted. Like it will always be there. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not lumping all men together. But the men who can express their love in a special way is far and inbetween.

Kenny and Lionel were very good friends right up to the day he passed. They were both very much involved in the creation of We Are The World ( song written by Lionel and Michael Jackson) - U.S.A. for Africa was the idea of Harry Bellefonte, money was raise to aid Africa. Almost the entire continent was experiencing horrific famine. The initial recording was done at Kenny's studio (before they pulled in all of the artists. Here is one of my favorite performances of "She Believes In Me", a duet with Lionel and Kenny: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nml6wZeaj5upp8Y.html If you've never heard "We Are The World" 1985, you should check that out. Link Below: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a3WezbeyiJPYhto.html If you like that, a more modern remake of the song was done in 2010, to help the people of Haiti, after a devastating earthquake. This was called "We Are The World 25 for Haiti", as it was 25 years after the original song came out. Again link below: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eaCi25ajg8bPhqw.html

Yes, yes, yes! You need to listen to so many of his songs. They were & still are so fantastic. He sang duets with Dolly Parton that became hits. He is so missed by so many from his generation, all I can say is that he had a great voice & is sadly missed. He was in a group for awhile, but because his voice was so phenomenal he ventured out on his own. Right decision because his band disappeared with changing times ( hippie generation), his voice went on to make world records.

Kenny was strictly CLASS. He has a slew of great songs. Listen to the Righteous Brothers You've Lost that Loving Feeling and Soul and Inspiration then Unchained Melody.

When I was in high school in the mid to late 80s I was in my high schools marching band (flute/piccolo). We played this every year for the crowning of the Homecoming Queen crowning on the football field.

In the late 70's America as a whole was just as familiar with Lionel Richie who wrote this and sang it as well, as Kenny. It is a shame that our country is so much more DIVIDED NOW as compared to then when we were all more likely to have listened to more of the same thing.

This song brings me to tears. Oh how I'd love to have known a man such as that. Just wasn't that lucky. The writer of that song was Lionel Richie (of the Commodores) who sang Three Times a Lady - I can recommend that one too. Another one that used to warm my soul..

Kenny had allot of great songs in the early 80s. Another soul touching one but with a more energetic fun vibe is the live performance of “islands in the stream” with Kenny and Dolly Parton”! Thanks for your genuine heart felt reaction!!

The song "Lady" was a song written by Lionel Richie of the Commdores for Kenny Rodgers. But regardless whoever wrote the song, it was a very beautiful song indeed and I thank you so very much for playing it. I really, really enjoyed it very, very much. Good evening and God bless you. Don't ever stop being truthful don't ever stop being you. Adios.
