If you let the video play til the end you would have heard Kenny say his son's teacher told him about Home Free, he looked them up on the internet and was so impressed, he called them and said, hey want to do this song on my Christmas album with me? Don McLean likewise did something similar when the 50th anniversary of American Pie approached and he invited HF to do a version of his classic and even invited them with him to his star on the Walk of Fame ceremony. Other musicians recognize just how good these guys really are.
This is a old African-American gospel song sung at Christmastime.....just an excellent collaboration with Home Free *&* Kenny
I love how Kenny steps back and let's them have their time in the spotlight. Such great entertainers.
Kenny wasn’t always country. Listen to “I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in” Kenny Rogers and the first addition

Yes, KR and the 1st Edition! There is no end to the talent of KR (RIP) and Home Free!
This is such a great rendition of this song. I think this was about 5 years before Kenny passed. You are so right, he never lost it.
R.I.P KENNETH RAY ROGERS Sr. (8/21/1938-3/20/2020) 🛐Merry Christmas in Heaven.
A classic African American Spiritual and Counting Song!❤Kenny got his start in pop and rock . HF can sing any genre and they do!

His early rockish group was Kenny Rogers and The First Edition.
I first saw Kenny Rogers when he was still with his band "The First Edition". They had a TV show called "Rollin' on the River" that was filmed in Toronto, Ont. (I don't know if it ran in the U.S.). I love this collaboration with Kenny Rogers. The singing, harmonies & beatboxing are wonderful. HF did their video of "The Gambler" as an homage to Kenny Rogers after his passing. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
Kenny Rogers started out doing rock with his band Kenny Rogers and the First Edition.
It's so great, I listen to this all year 'round.
Love what they did with the song. Love it.
Wow! I wasn’t expecting to be taken to church this Saturday morning! What a great gospel song and a great reaction!
Peace, Love!!
Kenny started as psychedelic pop/rock fusion...Kenny Rogers and the First Edition
I am so glad you got to this one! Home Free and Kenny Rogers ❤️🔥
This is great
If you don’t have your toes tapping or something moving and dancing you’re dead! What a great collaboration and I enjoyed your reaction too. Merry Christmas hristmaseveryone!
Love this collab with Kenny! I hope you watched to the end to hear Kenny’s remarks about how they came together. After he passed #HomeFree did a wonderful cover of The Gambler as a tribute to Kenny Rogers - he was a legend! Merry Christmas!
Great reaction. Thanks for sharing it with us. # HOMEFREE.
I love this! (Surprisingly)
This is at the top of my favorite collaborations that Home Free has done! This song puts me in the best mood every time. Thanks and Merry Christmas! 🎄🍟
I just went to Homefree xmas show and they played this one. It was a great energy live.
Love those tight harmonies
I love this song Thanks for your reaction.
Kenny and Dolly does a duet in Dolly wood . The song I will always love you. Is done perfectly as a duet .
Home free has done some great collaborations. I really love this one with Kenny Rogers & when they collaborated with The Oakridge Boys to perform “Elvira”, if you want something with a similar energy.
You commented during this video about how you haven't heard Kenny Rogers do anything except country music. Do you want to set the "Way Back Machine", "Way Back"? In the 1960s, Kenny Rogers was part of a group call the New Christie Minstrels. They sang folk music. That may not be Kenny Rogers' first "big" exposure, but it is the first one that I am personally aware of. My mother loved the New Christie Minstrels, so naturally I grew up listening to quite a bit of their music. Though few people have heard of them these days, the music of the New Christie Minstrels, while considered "dated" by some, still stands the test of time. Check them out. I think you might like what you discover.
Amazing performance by a much older Kenny Rodgers! HF great as usual ❤🔥
If you think Kenny Rogers just sings country, you need to watch his video of Lady. The only one I have seen here on KZread that reactors do is a live performance. It sure ain’t country. Written by Lionel Ritchie. The ladies swoon over this one! 😍😍
I think it's considered a gospel / spiritual. Happy Holidays, Mr. Boyd!
Love Kenny and Home Free! If you haven't heard Kenny Rogers and the First Edition a wild one to start with is 'Just Dropped In' from back in his rock days. The people in country music weren't sure if he could do well when he first swapped over if you can believe it after the fame he's had.
Absolutely wonderful, I never get tired of listening to it, it fills me with energy.
This is so very awesome! I am sure they were honored to sing with Kenny. RIP Kenny. They all did awesome with this song. Love your reaction!
Everything about this is epic, from the song to the arrangement to the high-energy performance, solos, adlibs, and details like Austin's guitar plonks. Great reaction.. Happy Christmas!
❤#Home Free. 🤠RIP Kenny ❤. Great reaction
I love this song and Home Free's version of it. I've listened to this song probably over a hundred times from various artists and genres. Sometimes the lyrics are a little different but every time it feels like something special. The first version I heard was by Tennessee Ernie Ford from a Christmas special from the 1950's with his little son Brion getting into the beat. Another favourite version is from the group The Fairfield Four. A truly exciting version is performed by the Spelman College Glee Club. All are worth checking out if you enjoy this song.

Back in the 1980s, I got into old records from The Weavers, the first folk group to hit it big on the charts in the early 1950s. Their Christmas concert album had them singing this song, which was the first time I had ever heard it. That’s a terrific traditional cover. However, Kenny and Home Free have my absolute favorite version!
Wow , never heard that song before , but I like it .
They Sound Amazing , Great Reaction ❤
So glad this aired on your channel!! Humphrey was a perfect group for Kenny to reach out to to sing with him!! If you listen to just two more comments you’ve heard how his sons teacher looked Home Free and Kenny up together! Another great collaboration for Christmas is a beautiful star of Bethlehem song with Jeffrey East and Oak Ridge boys! They also sing Christmas in Dixie with Alabama on their Christmas show two years ago!! Merry Christmas!
It’s so good. I think it’s an old spiritual. So well done. Kenny sounded great for 75! The boys did the Gambler as a tribute to Kenny when he passed. Good reaction! Have a wonderful Christmas! 😄😍
Kenny and the Home Free boys seem to be having a Drive By Revival.
Kenny’s songs I Don’t Need You, I Can’t Unlove You and Goodbye are great ones.
Mr. Boyd, I think that you've been taken to church! My husband's southern gospel group used to perform this song. I really like this version and thank you for the reaction 💞
Your smile said it all. Awesome reaction.❤
#HOMEFREE!
You should check out the Oak Ridge Boys " TRYIN TO LOVE TWO WOMEN" OR Miranda Lambert "ALL KINDS OF KIND" Or Earl Thomas Conley" CROWD AROUND THE CORNER" TY
It's GREAT to see you back on YT! Merry Christmas!
You may alsi want to see Home Free collaborate with Don McClean the originator on the 50th anniversary of his (Bye Bye Miss) American Pie, with Billy Golman on the 20th anniversary of his "One Voice" or with Lee Greenwood the originator of 'God Bless the USA' with the US Air Force Band. See also Home Free collab with Oakridge boys on Beautiful Star of Bethlehem. CHEERS!
“ Beautiful Star ofBethlehem” Home Free, oOak Ridge Boys and Jeffrey East allsinging together!

Home Free’s version of O Holy night is incredible.
This is an old Gospel song
You have to let videos play to the end Kenny wanted to work with Home Free again but sadly he passed before that could happen.
For another amazing Home Free collaboration, check out Elvira with the Oakridge Boys
Kenny Rogers and the Fifth edition.
You need to hear Kenny Roger's and the First Edition - Ruby.
Take a look at a bans called first edition. You'll see Kenny Rodgers as a rocker
Home free has some amazing colabs. Check out their Christmas playlist. Check out Mary Did You Know !!!!!
According to Wikipedia this song originated in the early 1900's of African-American origins.
ANOTHER REACTOR WHO DOESN'T PLAY FULL VIDEO. Before Kenny Rogers went country. Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, until 1970 billed as The First Edition, were an American rock band. The band's style was difficult to singularly classify, as it incorporated elements of country, rock and psychedelic pop.[3] Its stalwart members were Kenny Rogers (lead vocals and bass guitar), Mickey Jones (drums and percussion) and Terry Williams (guitar and vocals). The band formed in 1967, with folk musician Mike Settle (guitar and backing vocals) and the operatically trained Thelma Camacho (lead vocals) completing the lineup.
Kenny, pre his country career? Kenny and the First Edition, 8 Miles High and Falling Fast
you should listen to Tim from Home Free sing Misty Mountains. You can hear how low his voice can go.
Wasn't that fun? ❤️🔥🥰🎅🎄
This is one of my favorite songs. This is a good rendition of the song, but as far as I am concerned the best is done by Joe and Eddie. They are a duo that is not talked about much, or played much. KZread has a video of them doing this song from a performance on "The Danny Kaye Show." Do yourself a favor, and give it a listen.
I'm pretty sure you haven't reacted to Kenny Rogers' "You Decorate My Life", I think you'll enjoy it
Try Kenny Rogers, What Condition my condition is in..,
It's an old gospel song .They sang it right
Have you reacted to John Lennon Imagine?
Listen to "Any More" by Cain
