I figured something was going on when he posted FF 7 Crysis Core in his instagram a few weeks back, probably part of the deal for securing the licensing. Just never thought he would give us this.

Not only does Kenny call his finisher The One Winged Angel but he actually used the great Nobuo Uematsu's legendary theme music for Sepheroth as his entrance music for his epic long-awaited return to NJPW at WK17. Holy Bleep😱

This song is the Rebirth version of One Winged Angel which was composed by Yasunori Nishiki. He was quoted as saying he felt so much pressure having to recompose Uematsu's original piece that he got shingles on parts of his body. I think he absolutely nailed this and did the original masterpiece justice. It made for a great entrance for Kenny too. The way he's presented in Japan almost makes him look like 2 completely different people compared to how he's presented in North America. Superb stuff.

I absolutely love Final Fantasy 7 and Sephiroth... This entrance is absolutely up there with Undertaker's at Wrestlemania 29. It was absolutely incredible and can't stop watching!

Something about the NJPW presentation, even in the smaller buildings just makes wrestlers look like stars, I remember when Jay White won the IWGP world title from Okada last year, then cut a scorched earth promo backstage and looked like the biggest star in the world, a week later he was on Dynamite to build up forbidden door and he didn’t look half as interesting

He's the one that wants to elevate the trios in AEW and before that made himself an unlikable champion so people would cheer Hangman. It has nothing to do with what company he's in. Also back in his old NJPW days, he used to come out with a broom and sweep to the beat of his music, so he's always had that side to him.

If you think about it he’s used 4 different themes for entrances in the last 3 weeks, wayward Sons for Trios on dynamite, battle cry on dark, one winged angel for WK and Devils Sky for New Dash. Pretty insane.
