Kenny Anderson: The NEW YORK BASKETBALL LEGEND with one of the TIGHTEST HANDLES IN NBA HISTORY | FPP
One of the greatest players to ever come out of New York, Kenny Anderson was a high school phenom at Archbishop Molloy under coach Jack Curran, where he joined elite company with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players to be all-city in all 4 years. He went on to Georgia Tech and formed the “Lethal Weapon 3” trio alongside Dennis Scott and Brian Oliver and helped lead Georgia Tech to the first Final Four appearance in program history. He followed up an incredible freshman year with an even better sophomore year and by the time the 1991 NBA draft came along, he would be picked 2nd overall by the New Jersey Nets. The Nets already featured Derrick Coleman and Drazen Petrovic and by 1993, it seemed to be only a matter of time until they were among the league’s elite. Sadly, during the summer of 1993, Petrovic was killed in a car accident. Anderson remained on the Nets for a few more seasons, but the relationship slowly soured. He would be traded to the Charlotte Hornets in 1996, then sign with the Portland trailblazers going into ’97 where he was one of many great acquisitions, alongside Rasheed Wallace and Isaiah Rider. Anderson would have one of the best years of his career, but by the second half of the ’98 season, he had been traded to Boston to play with Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce. Anderson didn’t have much success in Boston, aside from being part of the surprising 2002 Boston Celtics team who made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals. Anderson would spend the final years of his career as a journeyman until he was out of the NBA by 2005. Kenny Anderson had lofty expectations and wasn’t able to live up to them, but that doesn’t change that he was one of the league’s top point guards for a few years in the mid 90s with his elite ball handling and playmaking, and if circumstances would have been different, Kenny Anderson may have seen himself in the all time conversation.

I always say one of the most underrated what if's in NBA history are those Anderson Colman petrovic nets TEAMS had Daly not retired early and had petrovic not passed they would have given those bulls teams all they wanted

Heck yeah ! Drazen was incredible...
Kenny Anderson was 🔥🔥💯 and still one of the great legends of all time.
17:25 As a Seattle-born in 1973 Sonics and Blazers fan, I LOVE that you showed FIVE player stats! Goodness, I brood over the chance they had at a championship. Pain is being a die-hard Blazers fan.
The Nets were a very strong team when they had Kenny Anderson, Dražen Petrović and Derrick Coleman. If Petrović had not died in the accident, the history of the Nets would have been very different.

The East was very strong then. Honestly they would've probably made it to the 2nd round once or twice but that's about it.

That's the goal, man. Appreciate the support!
Stellar The Magic Man is my favorite player ever. Jason Kidd was the best high school player I saw play in person. In regard to other point guards I admired Rod Strickland, Kenny Anderson, Tim Hardaway and Stephon Marbury skills too.
Thank you for the Kenny Anderson video! He was nice.
I had a Kenny Anderson champion jersey as a kid. Also a sweet Dana Barros 76ers jersey- the one they wore for only 1 or 2 seasons with the banner and stars under "Sixers". Those are hard to find today. Wish I still had it.
I would love to see guys like Kenny Anderson, Mark Price, Kevin Johnson, Dana Barros, Rod Strickland, and Mahmoud Abdul Rauf play in todays game with a green light to shoot whenever and from wherever they wanted with the spread court. They would of put up huge numbers!
Bring back our Sonics!
First viewer....YES!!! I remember Kenny at GT. He was crazy good.

Kenny Anderson was a much heralded New York point guard following in the footsteps of Kenny Smith, Pearl Washington( RIP), Mark Jackson, and Rod Strickland. He was big time at Georgia Tech. In the NBA he struggled. He was small and couldn't put on weight. He was only about 160lbs and would get taken advantage of defensively.
I love the players you choose to cover because it always makes me wanna watch highlights for days on them. Keep up the great work!
I believe he was on the NBA Jam roster.
The move he put on bobby Hurley I watched that game on a Monday night on ESPN
Thank you so much for those great videos man, I like everyone! A lot of great players I was close to forget about. The 90s are my favorite decade of basketball! Keep on doing your thing.

I agree. I remember Kenny Anderson well. Great videos respecting the forgotten greats.
Kenny Anderson was nice!! One of the most tremendous talents at the point guard position!
Great idea! Thanks for reminding folk that there were/are many more outstanding players other than MJ and LBJ.
Good content..you gotta do one on Charles Oakley and Rex Chapman...
My father took me to.see him at Molloy in '89 and then we went to see him at the Meadowlands a few times when he played for the Nets. He was like an artist on the court, alot of fun to watch.
Kenny with the Nets was a problem...I felt like if Drazen Petrovic hadn't got killed in that tragic car accident, the Nets woulda been a contender by the mid 90s. They had a nicee core

As a young NBA fan, I really enjoyed watching Anderson play with the Nets.
Handles don’t mean flashy dribbling. It means taking care of the ball and helping you make the best play. And in the case I’m going A.i and Stockton for best handles ever
Lefrak City Queens, very own .👑 💯✔️👍🏿
Excellent job 👍🏾

You do a great job showing love speaking of my guy Josh Howard needs some.
Anderson had theat perfect NYC drip. Tha god was truly NIICE.
Was in Tecmo nba basketball on nes.😢 I feel old now.
Kenny Anderson also had terrible incident with a fan that was caught on video during the NBA strike. A young fan asked for his autography and Kenny just blew him off. It was a very bad look for KA
I loved Kenny Anderson on nba live 95
Imagine if Drazen had lived and Kenny and DC weren't immature malcontents
Need a vid on AK-47 he was an underrated defensive monster
im just happy he got to sign a big contact before he got hurt

I hate Tammy Anderson. It's one thing to screw over her ex-husband. But, she's SO proud of it, hence her "HIS CASH" on her license plate. REAL mature, and way to be the bigger person.
