Very true, I grew up watching him like a hero.
a Kenneth More was one of greatest actors of all time . Bless him for eternity
I met this lovely man in the toilets of the White Swan, Alnwick, in the late 70's. I should explain, my pals and I were jobbing extras on Mr More's film 'The Spaceman and King Arthur'. We were scrubbing ourselves in the loos (camping nearby) when in walked Mr More and John Le Mesurier - well what gentlemen they were, kind thoughtful, funny and caring - old school!

@TheClassicalSymphony - no bless him - he and John Le Mesurier were the top billed actors staying at the poshest hotel in town ! They caught us scrubbing up in the loos - great and kind actors 💪🏻
An actor who was so uniquely individual that the films in which he appears are remembered as Kenneth More films. Thank you for posting.
His honesty even to this day is a breath of fresh air. His part in the film "Genevieve" is one of the best films ever.
His accent is wonderful to listen to. His RP diction was wonderful.

I'm now 58 years old and I've loved Kenneth Moore for as long as I can remember. I wish I'd had the opportunity to meet him. RIP Kenneth. x
True great British actor. Thank you.
Mavis plays Kenneth like a stringed instrument. This interview deserves to be remembered as a model of its type. An interviewer doesn't have to bully, or deceive, a guest into opening up about themselves.
Cracking little cameo interview. the more I read of and hear Kenneth More clips the better I like him. And Mavis Nicholson one of the best interviewers of all time. He afternoon show was a treat
What a real nice guy..a true gent.

Mavis sadly died recently, Mavis Nicholson (née Mainwaring; 19 October 1930 - 8 September 2022) was a Welsh writer and radio and television broadcaster. She was born in Wales, and worked throughout the United Kingdom.[2]
Thanks for posting. What a great voice he had.
A very Decent Human being. His performance in Reach for the Sky was Very impressive and Sadly died too young at 67in 1982,ironically the same year as Douglas Bader.

Wow. I really enjoyed this. I really enjoy these old interviews, the way they spoke, the style. I do like Kenneth More, he was in one of my fave films as a kid "A night to remember" and he played Douglas Bader in Reach for the Sky.

My late uncle had exactly the same hair style, used to make me smile as I saw Kenneth in my uncle, sad to think both are gone now :(
I saw this interview when it first came out. Late'70s I think.
near to finishing the book . Great read ,love this chap and all his films
I would have loved this nice bloke as an uncle.
The Ghost of Christmas Present from "Scrooge" AWESOME!
Interesting! I just like him. So formal, proper, wonderful accent, yet with a spot of mischief.
His widow is still with us: I hope she's thriving.❤
Me and my ma love Kenneth more too bits an excellent actor
Came here after watching A Night To Rememver, today.
I just started watching his films, any I can find. Saw the Battle of Britain many times and didn’t realize that was him until I started watching his movies. My favorite so far is, Reach for the sky…and Flame over India….

Lovely man xx
His autobiography, More or Less, was originally published in 1978, so this interview dates from then. He died four years later in 1982. The interviewer, Mavis Nicholson, is still alive, but will be 86 later this year, 2016.

I knew his daughter and saw his oscar on his mantle peice....lovely actor , lovely daughter.
Love him at a Nigth to Remember as Titanic second officer
Great British actor
First film I remember of his was Man in the Moon. I was 6, so 1991. Growing up I saw more old movies than contemporary so these films seemed 'new' then. Watching it a voice in my head says I like this chap, he's great. Now, 37, Kenny remains my favourite.
He seems like a nice man and a great actor but I can't believe he was shocked people didn't approve of his affair.

Terry Court ,now that you mention it,that would have been great casting.Kenneth was an insightful actor who would have been convincing as the indifferent bachelor and with his natural warmth and charm, would have won us over in the final scenes.I have most of his films on DVD and I enjoy them all.In “North West Frontier”,he brought out a natural warmth in Lauren Bacall that I had never noticed before.
It's great how Stars of this era were far more honest than today, now its just self promotion of them and the latest film.
Another example of the interviewer allowing the guest to talk.

Great actor from a great era!!!
Brilliant in reach for the sky
Such a character ❤
Interestingly (to me at least) I was watching something recently where some actor of the time (I forget who) mentioned Angela Douglas saying "oh yes she 'shacked up' with Kenneth More didn't she" which sounded a rather unnecessarily loaded/barbed comment, I knew they were together but seeing this tells me it was maybe seen as a bit scandalous at the time

Kenneth died in 1982, so this must have been recorded in the late 1970s. Mavis hosted a large number of daytime shows on ITV when they launched a daytime schedule in October 1972.
🤩👏
He looks like a cross between Stewart Granger and Benny Hill...Nice widow's peak.
He jumped away from talking about leaving his second wife quite sharpish!

I hate when anyone trashes their family publicly. It might be the truth, but it's sad to witness.
