I had one of the original versions with the engine that I got for Christmas in 1976. Everyone knew it then as a "Six Million Dollar Man *doll* " , because at the time no one had heard of an "action figure". That term tuned up later, probably so more boys would want them without having to shy away from asking for a "doll".

Wow thanks for sharing.. I got one for Xmas too. I also had his nemesis . That action figure came with two extra arms. He was able shoot off both of his legs, arms and head. He also had three masks With three masks. One for his character., one of steve Austin and Oscar Goldman. You put the other two masks in the back of that character. In the Six Million Dollar Mans box came an application to join astronauts Steve Austins fan club. I had to send money to join. Then they mailed me a Diploma, a fan club business card and a fake autograph picture.. My Steve Austin had already broken. I wanted the new and improved one. But I got the nemisis robot guy instead. Then I got Pulsar that birthday. I still have the red Tennis shoes, engine block and business card. Plus Pulsar and the robot dude

Awesome Video As Always Tim! Myself I have been collecting The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman for over 30+ years and I'm still picking them up from time to time.

Great video, man! I have 5 complete 1st/2nd issue Steve Austins with engine blocks that I've pieced together and/or restored. By far my favorite TV show in the 1970's when I was between 7-8 years old, and my favorite toy line... until Star Wars arrived in theaters in 1977 and captivated me. I've since returned to my roots, and it's great to see that there's still a faithful following to the Six Million Dollar Man.

Fantastic overview! This came before my time but as I delve more into toy collecting as a hobby, I find myself distinctly entranced by the charm of toys from way back when.

Great video, this figure is awesome I had one as a kid and have two in my collection today, I bet some of these figures were returned because they thought that Bionic arm was damaged and all you had to do was turn the head to the right lol. Keep the great videos coming

I remember that dumb engine block. HOW many missions did Steve Austin ever chuck an engine block? I'm guessing none. Pretty sure I forgot why I had it at some point and threw the block away.

Another great video, thanks again. The G I Joe Atomic Man figure in your video was part of the Action Man series of figure's here in the UK and it had synthetic hair instead of painted on. There was a great toy shop in my home town when i was young and they had all these brilliant figure's, Action Man, Tom Stone, Bullet Man and The Six Million Dollar Man. The only action figure i never saw available was Bigfoot from the Six Million Dollar Man tv series, would be great if you could do a video review on this action figure?

The stand was actually a clear figure stand I had bought at a hobby store (Hobby Lobby or Michael's?) some years ago. It was a stand for figures under 12" tall. I just took the "U" shaped bracket off the pole.

The 1977 Bionic Grip Figure had the roll up skin on the silver arm just like the first one from 1975 (I have 5 of them with there original skin in my collection).

These are getting very expensive on eBay now. I see examples minus the engine block, with shabby outfits, and general wear and tear going for nearly $100. I had one as a child (plus the Bionic Transport) and now have one for display plus a mint one in the box.
