Your fix worked. Our washer is from 1992, may it last another 30 years! :-) [ I had to remove the whole agitator to get the 'core' out, the original 'core' had 4 flanges that the new replacement doesn't have, but still an easy fix. ] ("...and it really-really works!")

I'm wondering if that's what the problem is with my Kenmore 90. I went to empty the washer and one of my shirts was completely in shreds and I had to gradually pull to work it out of there. I don't know if there's pieces still under the agitator. Not sure if it's working, because I'm afraid it's going to ruin more clothes. I'm doing a lot of searching on Google trying to figure out what the problem is? Does anybody have any helpful information?

Thanks you for this video! What part on agitator kit fails?
My washer has a square plastic hole and no bolt visible. There’s a lot of molded plastic (like 4 recesses that look like the shape of agitator dogs and a toothed edge around one piece) - almost looks like stuff was put in upside down or something. Kenmore 90 series. The inner plastic part just spins, I see no way to “unscrew” anything.

Same problem here Clay. I see no bolt, just a plastic collar type thing that looks like it should have a bolt in the middle.
Nobody talks about the rubber o-ring or gasket though. Where does that go?
Fix dogs but not properly agitating. It doesn’t push the clothes around clothes stay in same spot the whole agitating cycle . Meaning g no clothes is washing . I did the cloth Wise and counter clock wise to see if everything is on properly and it is. Again just feel like it’s not getting enough power to agitate properly to bring clothes up and down to give a proper wash . What could be the problem???
Would this be the reason my clothes are still soaking wet after the washer has run it's cycle?
Is there ever a need to replace the upper part of the agitator, because those teeth are worn as well?
