Ken Tamplin back in the day, out-talents Steve Tyler or Axel Rose by a country mile. He out sang them easily, AND shredded on guitar, could move better than any of them. I probably never heard of him because he was a 'Christian rocker' - but holy cow, he could do it all. So could his mates. This is old school shoot-on-a-rooftop guerilla filmmaking, running, jumping and dancing around in front of a camera, running around WITH the camera, no special effects. Just charisma and big hair, backed up by serious musical chops. Tamplin's voice kicked everybody's ass. How did I ever not know about this.

It wouldn't let me post earlier. Thought I had made efforts to find Christian rock but some how missed this guy. KZread recommended after heading into Bloodgood land. Can't say there isn't good Christian rock anymore. May the Lord continue to bless Ken Tamplin.

I dont know who the left handed player in the video is, but the lead guitar was actually played by one of my all-time favorite players: Mark St. John from KISS. Today would be Mark's 63rd birthday if he was still alive, but I know he's celebrating with Jesus now. Plus Ken Tamplin is one of my favorite singers, and I especially love his work with Shout. There's too much awesomeness in this song, and it makes me proud to live for the Lord too!

@@billylarouqe1157 The left handed guitar player is an incredibly talented guy named Scott Van Zen who played on many of the tracks on An Axe To Grind. Scott just released a new solo album called No Words. Yes, it is an instrumental CD as the name implies, and it is full of righteous guitar, bass, and drums from beginning to end. I only paid $15 and it came in the mail autographed to me from Scott on the front. How cool is that? Check out Scott's youtube videos. He has a lot of material out there.

Cowtipper: Hey Chris, I became an agnostic after believing in God as a Roman Catholic my whole childhood. Some things happened in my life that made me think God can't possibly exist but I was still unsure. One day, God showed me His reality and will to you too if you ask Him humbly to do so if you really want to know the truth. He isn't a Santa Claus though like you see some of these TV preachers today teach. He is high and lifted up, the Creator of all things. To say you are 100% atheist is to say you are omniscient and have all knowledge of all things and that YOU know God doesn't exist out there. You can't know that. None of us KNOW ALL THINGS. Eternity is forever my friend. Please do not take that lightly. Your soul was so valuable to the God you say doesn't exist that He sent His Son to come and die in our place to take the penalty of your sins and we have many my friend. WE all need a Saviour. Some things to think about. There are 2,000 already fulfilled Bible prophecies in the Bible. Jesus fulfilled over 300 of those while on earth. Mathematicians about 3 decades ago did a mathematical probability on one person fulfilling just 8 pre-written prophecies and the “probability” number they came up with was so astronomical that is was impossible unless of course there is a God. Haha. It's true buddy. He loves you. Come to Him. Things are going to get really bad on earth. We are just seeing the beginning and we need to get close to God while we can so that we are not deceived. Check out Russian mathematician Ivan Panin's BIBLE NUMERICS. Yes, the Bible has another layer beneath it like a skin of an onion. Ivan was either an agnostic or atheist and set out to prove God's word was not true. He became a believer after discovering the Bible Numerics phenomenon throughout all its pages and spent the rest of his life finding these things in every verse. Nobody knew of this mathematical layer until God used an atheist/agnostic like you to figure it out. God's word is written both with language and numbers my friend. I can give you other reasons but if this is not enough, I will leave it at that. Yeah, you're right it must be the power of the media and not that Christian Rock is a very small sub genre that most people don't like. I think Ken is one of the most incredible singers, but if he had a mainstream message he would have had a better chance of getting a mainstream response. You might as well have said "thanks Obama"...

How did I miss these guys????...oh yeah ...well till about 1985 I was basically "fried & baked"...then by his grace("supernatural slack"...I've been Living for my Lord!!!! Strange though I never recall hearing his stuff...I was wrapped up in Rez Band and Bloodgood ,Deliverance Bride...etc... well Old school can be New school in the kingdom!

Man you guys have that 80's power rock thing down. I literally stumbled into this today while looking around for an idea of what the state of Christian rock & metal are currently. Finding a new OLD BAND/artist for me is very rare because I have been involved with music and musicians for so many years that I know 100's of them. WOW.
