You know I initially watched it after knowing the story since I was a kid and left feeling like they didn't do the story justice. Then I started talking to non-car people who really liked it and I've done a 180. Glad to have the history of these cars be passed on... the stories and cars weren't kep't around for that long without a reason.

My Dad was 16 when this race happened, and we went to see this movie in the theater about a year before he passed. He told me he listened to this race with some pals on a shortwave radio here in the states and they were locked into it the whole time. The local Ford dealership had gave hundreds of those portable radios away for free just for the specific purpose of listening to the race wherever you were because they didn't know if the local radio station would cover the whole 24 hours. The dealership name was stamped on the radios and he swears he still had it somewhere, I never found it. He loved this movie but hated the way they made out just that one guy as the enemy of Miles. Love you, Dad.

Ford exactly knew where the limit is. They knew when they first rolled out gt40 none of the cars would finish first race. And they knew it would be the gearbox that fails and not the tires - although they brought wrong ones.

It's one of those rare movies which you just don't watch, you actually feel it. Being an engineer I can totally feel what Ken was referring to "know the limits". Yes ofcourse the machine will not let you down even if you push it beyond the limit because it was designed to be with you all the time, It's like having a person on your side who will do anything for you, even if you demand a death of her. But if you are able to understand that even this engineering masterpiece has also its limits, respect it, don't hurt it. That's the exact moment you can call yourself "a driver ". An excellent video btw.

This story is uncorrect because next 5 years, after ken and Carroll collaboration and union ford won 5 years Le Mans without loosing..

@@Pwndaz considering they were using 10mil + Le Mans cars, it wouldve never been practical. Just saying, majority of the movie was cgi while people are having their breath taken away by the "stunt driving". At least the sound design team on this knew the proper amount of gears and engine noises that belonged each car

this was such a great movie. everytime i watch the racing scene's i get chills. We need more movies like this, specially when it comes to cars

@@robbiddlecombe8392 -- the movie Ford vs Ferrari was simplified, because otherwise it would be a mini-series, not a movie. They could have done either. They did a good job with the cast, the story and the script for Ford vs Ferrari. I mean they are telling the story of a chain of events the was over the course of several years (or even a decade). The major parts were correct. The essence was there... all of the important main bits.

at the end of Le Man, The Media and reporters were going to tear into ford for robbing their star driver, But he asked them “Be careful what you say to these people, they’ve been awfully good to me” so they didn’t.

Being a racer my self, I can tell ya....this was one helluva heart breaking movie....God Bless Ken Miles !!

That's the irony. Ken DIDN'T win the race, but he became TREMENDOUSLY more famous because of the movie! What an absolutely PURE Racer. A man to idolize!

Enzo Ferrari's nod is Ken's Greatest gift

This is one of those movies that I could watch a thousand times and never get tired of.

" You promised me the drive, not the win " . This just encapsulates the true essence of racing. It's not about who's won, It's about who's faster, more elegant and fluidlike in the corner

The scene of him thinking about slowing down. Looking in the mirrors….without a word, Christian shoes the world what a legend he is. Masterclass in acting right there. You know, you feel every taught thats going through his mind

They called him the unsung hero of the GT40, he ain’t unsung no more.

At some point, driving is a meditation.

Kenny Miles was a badass race car diver.

@@robbiddlecombe8392 actually he was the guy in the movie and more, Ken Miles had been minutes ahead of the other cars, but due to self-serving instructions from Ford, combined with a technicality, Miles was given second place instead of first. Ford management had indeed instructed him to slow down so that all three of their cars could cross the finish line together.

It's high time for the prequel movie: When Shelby American built the Daytona Cobra Coupes for the '64 & '65 FIA racing season along with the Cobra Roadsters and raced in the US and Europe, thus kicking Ferrari's ass in 1965. Those incredible hot rodders from Los Angeles won the World Manufacturers Championship!

One of the greatest car films

I'm a grown man, a regular tough I'd like to think, but this movie made me cry like a little baby at the end. Fantastic film.

Absolutely love this edit. The movie is a love letter to Shelby and the history of the GT40. This video is a love letter to that movie... and it's perfect.

In that scene, when he looks back and sees literally nobody behind him driving to the finish. He knew...he knew he won...that was vindication enough. I'm glad the story was told. We all know now.

Ford Vs Ferrari is currently an underrated movie, and will be recognized as one of the best in the coming years.

I don't know how 6:39 passed in this video. I remember watching this movie in Pune, IN. I will never forget the greatest experience of watching this cinema. This is called a perfect action cinema with impeccable screenplay,editing and an extraordinary music score. Hats of to the makers of FORD vs FERRARI. Kudos to you too THE MEMOMORY LANE!!!!

They would NEVER do a good job portraying Senna, or his life. After watching Days of Thunder, I know 100% that ANOTHER movie about the world's more backwards ass racing event (NASCAR) is NEVER needed.

Even if they make 100 fast and furious family movies, all of them cannot beat this movie, even when combined. A fantastic piece of movie.

I love how he puts his sunglasses on like he's on a Sunday drive cool as hell

I was a teenager during all of this even remember seeing that terrible ending at Le Mans, I could not wait to get my Sports Car magazines each month to read about those races

@@rizkyantoni3948 McLaren started like 6 feet farther back and sense they crossed the line at the same time, McLaren technically drove 6 feet farther that made him the winner.

Let us also appreciate how much Ken's son is invested in the race and his respect for his dad after the perfect lap 5:19. Brings tear in my eye to see a son respecting his dad from deep within when a lot of us don't believe in our loved ones, though out of geniune care.

The perfect lap time was set by Dan Gurney early in the morning. Not long after that the cars engine blew up . That is why the 2 & 1 car were told to EZE at 11 am . The 2 car did the 1 car didn’t . That’s a fact. Shelby entered all 3 cars, not one as shown in the film.

Hell of a Drive! Hell of a Driver! Hell of a Dad! and certainly one; Hell of a Man!

I was a first responder for nearly 20 years. I can say, that cars you thrashed with full throttle acceleration, hard braking and endless tire limit cornering time and time again, became something special. You would run to your vehicle, fire it up and drive fucken hard, to your limit, again and again. Cars that stood up to that punishment became like a friend, someone you could rely on. And cars that didnt, you never stepped into them again, gone. I know this is just a movie but I see that in this car, its a real thing, you ask more of it and it keeps giving.

All of a sudden this film has aged, yesterday Ferrari won the centenary edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans in the most convincing fashion. The Prancing Horse team were fast, consistent and didn't make a mistake, unlike Toyota and Porsche.

Sometimes they don’t get out of the car…

He got the best engineer and driver all in one.

I've been in racing for many years, and I love that this movie also shows the politics and financial structures behind the sport. It can be harder to run a well funded factory backed team than being a privateer. Nobody believes it, untill you learn this story and the many like it. This is one of the few realistic racing movies.

Such an underrated and amazing movie. I feel sad for Ken Miles what he went through.

This simply became my favourite movie.

I can’t race a high horse power monster to the max on a race track, but I can sure as hell race to deliver your pizza in perfect timing. I love to play this music when delivering in my shitbox but man she doesn’t give up on giving me an extra smile to the mile every time. Stay safe kings and may the legend of Ken Miles live on.

This movie made me feel the power, the adrenaline, the speed and intensity of racing all in one go... Probably one of the most beautiful racing movies. It goes up alongside Rush, Cars, Fast and Furious (first 3 movies)
