Ben, as someone who's been surfing for 57 years now, I think your great contribution is celebrating the joy of surfing even the tiniest, crappiest conditions. All of the focus has been on big and perfect, which leaves people jaded and whiny when conditions are "just" fun and average. I have so many friends who have been ruined from traveling. I love all conditions. And I love riding any board ... even if it were a front door. I live right at the beach in northern Oregon, and when I look at junky surf, I always tell myself, "Gravy would go!" And then I get my ass out there and have a great time.

Couldn't agree more. I love Bens content because it's the closest to reality that I have found. I dig the big channels like JOB, Nate Florence, Smith Bros, Koa Rothman, etc but there is nothing like watching Ben come out of 2ft sloppy El Slammo w a huge smile on his face 🙌🤙

In defense of the “big and perfect” surf conditions we see being so intensely broadcasted, it’s because it’s fun to watch. It’s something many of us don’t see often, so it’s a joy to get to see it online.

I met a friend from Australia in Italy. When i told him i surf in New Jersey i was shocked when he asked if I'd ever seen your videos. Kelly sold his pool after he launched it live. So he probably doesn’t have to much say, but he still has unlimited access and pull so you probably will see one at some point in FL
