Kelly Clarkson is an American treasure! Her voice is so soothing, and she has gotten me through some pretty rough times.The way she sings this song is absolutely incredible!When Kelly Clarkson auditioned for the first season of American idol, I’m presuming she was not expecting to become one of the worlds greatest inspirations and singers. I hope Kelly’s legacy lives on forever. 11/10 🤩

@@jaycharleston2570 oh of course the first one with Kelly singing it solo came first. She recorded this album in 2004 and the song was released in 2005. And then she recorded it again with Reba in 2007 and it was released same year. I still prefer the solo Version.

@@beligigena9740 her father left them when she was young. She was deeply hurt by that, hence the song 'because of you'. She wrote this song and it's very personal for her, and said as much as possible she doesn't want other people to record the song (i probably read or heard it in an interview long time ago)

I used to sing along to this song when I was young. Never thought it would happen to me. Never thought I'd come to understand the lyrics a little too personally.

She sings this song with emotion as if she has been hurt in the pass.I can relate to the song for I was hurt many times over by my husband now my ex and I am a survivor and my only regret in my life is meeting him and marrying him.We think that we know someone but in the end we really don't and trust someone but the only person you can trust and depend on is yourself.

When I was younger, I thought the lyric 'you' here was referring to the person who hurt her and because of that person she doesn't want to experience love anymore. But as I grew older and really pay attention to the lyrics, I've come to realized that the 'you' here is referring to someone around her (maybe a family member or a friend) that has been hurt by love (in whatever way it is). And she saw all of this happening and what the 'you' had to go through, and she doesn't want to experience the same thing that happened to 'you'😭😭💔
