Learned this song in high school when it first came out. Our choir was invited to a church to sing and we sang this. Full band full choir. I think the roof came off the church and heavenly joy came down in that place Hallelujah!!!! Jesus!!!😊

Great memories at The House of God Gates of Heaven Church.

When I was a kid, I really disliked church. It was just boring. I went to the Akron Baptist Temple in Akron Ohio. It's gone now. But it was what some would consider a "Mega church" They would have around 4 thousand people there every Sunday. And kids went to Sunday school while the adults worshiped in the main auditorium. And the Sunday school was like a regular school, in the sense that you would be in a different grade every year. Anyhow, in all of these 4 thousand there were like no black people. And that made me feel weird because there were black students in my Jr High school. And well, the Baptist Temple as big as it was attempted to be fun. Summer Church camp. But it was like being in a Muslim country. Girls and boys weren't allowed to socialize or interact in any way. The girls had a different dining room. They had a different swimming pool. And all functions would happen at separate times for the boys than the girls. And I couldn't understand why they were so against 9 year olds of opposite gender fraternizing. But as I got older, I realized it was probably more about keeping the camp youth workers apart. Our "coach" as we called him, was 25. And the girls had coaches the same age, about 21-28. Anyhow, church was boring. And the music was the worst. But if I were attending a church with great music like this, I would have been eager to go to church on Sunday morning. Not dreading it like I did for so many years.

We were all allotted certain experiences in life. To travel certain paths. I personally believe our experiences are our own individual ministries. So as you confess the Father, the Son and His present is, the Holy Ghost, go, share, your experiences. We never know how the Lord plans to use our experiences to bless another. It is very well likely that thing that another may need. And in doing so the very thing you needed to bless you even today. I loved reading your story. All our experiences are purposed. Be blessed
