A 97 year old brother in Christ told me about this song yesterday at church. He has had many days of climbing the rough side of the mountain. When the LORD gets ready for him to come home, He will send an angel to carry him! Thank you brother for telling me about this song!

My grandma Jimmie Lee and great auntie Isabel Fitzpatrick used to sing this at St. John Baptist Church in the choir. I guess I like this song. Even though I really didn’t like going to their church to visit, they were Baptist. My mom raised us Pentecostal. Two totally different experiences.. but I’m happy. I got the chance to a glimpse into my grandmother life. Rest in heaven, Grandma and Auntie.

Yesss sis!! My great aunt blasting this on the car stereo on our way to church in her black Cadillac with red leather seats. Those 90s memories are beautiful.

This was my great-grandfather's favorite song. We would sing this on Sun. mornings as my great-grandmother baked tea cakes and jelly cakes for Sun dessert! How I miss them both! ❤❤

I never understood this song when I was younger!! Now after all I went through in my life, I know what it means now. It maybe an old song, but listen to the words and understand what they singing, you'll know!!!
