    We've been fortunate enough to record Keith live a couple of times now in Richmond, VA (actually down in Petersburg). Great guy and a hell of a bassist.

    Keith was seen playing in the late 80s and early 90s around VA a lot. He use to play a righty flipped-over bass in those days. Amazing!

    I met Keith back in Virginia before he moved to Nashville and no one knew who he was. He played left handed but whenever he sat in with club bands there was never a left handed bass so he taught himself to just flip a right hander over thus, he was playing with the strings inverted. since that's the way he has always played, when he achieved endorsement status he had the company make a left handed bass but strung upside down just like the way he played on right handed basses.

    It is how he learned to play. Keith (a cousin of mine) will never admit it but he is one of the best in the business and can play just about any type of music.

    Wow, Keith. Just now seeing this by accident. (And those are the best kind of accidents) All Blues has very little changes and you took that song and made it your own! Made me look at solos a little more differently, now. I love it! Man I love it! I see why Victor Wooten talks about you. Great solo, man. Time to hit the mode books again.😊🎶🎸

    The Bass appears to be a left handed guitar with the strings upside down. The tone/volume knobs, and tuning keys are in the correct position for a Left handed Bass but the strings are reversed. Plus the horn on the top is longer as it should be. Regardless this guy is absolutely amazing! Thoroughly impressed! Very cool licks, slick ideas, masterfully played!

    He plays upside down because his father played when he was little. He didn't know he was playing it wrong. He never changed and continues to play this way. =-) He has a Keith Horne siganture Bass by Warrior.

    @tubbyteleman731 that actually is a lefty, because the pots are below the strings

    @tubbyteleman731 I play on a right handed bass strung upside down. (I'm a leftie) There is a big difference in balance between the two and you can tell by looking at the shape that it's a left handed guitar. ;)

    @tubbyteleman731 i believe that is how he learned how to play bass, but this specific bass, is a left handed bass strung upside down.

  • @Stick0413
    @Stick041311 жыл бұрын

    Yeah he has stated before that is how he learned to play and just never changed. I can't blame him for not changing because why would you changed a great thing. Also as for as him not admitting but being a great bass player why would so many artists including Peter Frampton (one of the best guitar players of all time) give him a solos at their concerts? Simple answer is because he is a great bass player.

    Great, tremendous perform., drop dead & all that stuff. so can't help wondering: why's the picture so atrocious ? it looks like I'm tryin to watch tv in my imagination's Memory of a day in 1969. they say extremely old memories you think are accurate or clear are actually shitty & inaccurate. like the picture here. just puzzled. was it a camera from 1976 ??

    I would like it a lot better if he was doing that on a 4 string. That high C just doesn't sound that good to me, especially when he's slapping.
