The series is fondly remembered by those who saw it during its run from 1990 to 1995, and it has only gained more popularity from those catching it since then in syndication, DVDs and streaming. The success of the show was in big part due to its main cast, who shined over the course of the 5 series. In this video, we’re taking a look at many of those actors and actresses, to pay tribute to their stellar work. We take a look at the careers they had before they joined the cast of Keeping Up Appearances, as well as who they played on the show. Then we take a look at what they have been up to since the show ended.
For some, their roads ended and they have since passed away. But others have continued on. It seems that all of the main cast has had a fair amount of success in the years since Keeping Up Appearances ended. This is not surprising in some ways, since it was such an excellent and popular show. And in other ways, it’s surprising since there have been plenty of examples of actors finishing up a hit show only to have trouble finding continued success. And while some cast members are still alive but retired from acting, others are still plugging away! So join Facts Verse, as we present: Keeping Up Appearances Cast Careers and Deaths (After the Show Ended)

@@FactsVerseUK when Rose came over to the church dressed in black chasing the dishy vicar around outside the church climbing up the ladder.
I introduced my parents to "Keeping up Appearances," and from then on every Saturday evening our television was tuned to that series. My father's health was failing and he was having mini strokes. He didn't communicate that well, but oh! could he laugh when that show was on. He never tired of watching the series----even the reruns. My mother loved the show, and once my father passed she would sit in the living room and wait for the show to come on. She roared with laughter at Hyacinth's antics, identified with Richard as the long suffering spouse, and delighted in the antics of Rose. When the boxed set of the series came out, I bought the set for my mother. She watched every episode, and she had her favorites----especially the one where the characters go out on the river, and Richard and Hyacinth encounter a dredging operation that dumps river muck on them. That series brought my parents a lot of joy in their final years, and I'm grateful to the cast for providing good comedy and all round cheer to the millions who watched that show.
Loved Hyacinth's interaction with the Major 😂

Geoff Hughes was a truly lovely bloke, I had the pleasure of bumping into him a few times at the Cropredy Music Festival, he was a long time friend of Fairport Convention and regular festival attendee as well as compere. He made my mums day when he agreed to have his photo taken with her. He was a kind chap, humourous, humble and very witty.
The 'Flower Sisters' - Hyacinth, Daisy, Violet and Rose. Love it!
Watch for Patricia Routledge as one of the school teachers in the movie "To Sir With Love" also. I guess the character I liked and related to best was Daisy. She was happy with her life, unlike the perpetually frustrated Hyacinth seeking perfection. (Which of course Routledge did so well.) I am sorry to hear about Onslow.😞

Onslow’s FH cap (Fulton Hogan) was given to Geoffrey Hughes in the late 80’s when he was a guest for Dunedin NZ festival week. Fulton Hogan is a major construction company in NZ, which back then it’s Head office was located in Dunedin.
The 1960s police drama Z-Cars was first broadcast live before being recorded it ended in the 1970s and Softly Softly was a spin-off and the Z in the title is pronounced as Zed in England, so it literally reads Zed-Cars, and they're called Z-Cars because the police cars used were Ford Zephyrs and the series was based in the docklands of Liverpool,
What about Rose, Daddy, the Vicar (and his wife), Violet, the Major and others?
