It’s good to see a video where things just don’t go to plan unlike other channels where everything ‘works’ first time ✌️

Hi Lee. Cool video again, it’s a love hate with interiors, clips breaking etc 😂 least you didn’t waste your money on the lock module!

Thanks again, really looking forward to the door deadening and speaker upgrade video as this is a job on my list. Would you consider insulating the cavity or do you think this would risk gumming up the door & window mechanisms? Are you changing out the head unit?

Nice one thanks for sharing,. There was probably no power/signal to the lock module while you were testing because the door was open. VW vans especially canbus ones (as you well know) do a lot of strange things behind the scenes. Looking forward to seeing what you create Ed

Great video, I might try some of this on my T5? My van is a 2006 and needs lots of work, mostly rust repair. You may remember from the live stream a couple of weeks ago I said my van would benefit from a whole new drivers side from door pillar to and including wheel arch due to it obviously being in a couple of prangs in its past. Thanks for sharing this video, very helpful. 🙏🏻👍🏻

Can’t wait to see what you do with the door cards! Need some inspiration! Can you buy new ones? Maybe in black?

Big thanks for this video! Just sound deadened my passenger side today up until the point that I dropped the window clamp bolt while putting things back together so I decided to call it off for today open it up again tomorrow 😂Looking forward to seeing how you do the deadening. I was considering to put some armaflex there on top of the butyl mat but for the time being the butyl is enough. Hopefully the drivers side goes a bit more smoothly. I'll definitely have to put some grease to my window cables too as the motors on mine seem to be in trouble sometimes already. I hope I have something suitable back home that does not mess up everything.

Can you do a video on changing a T5 external door handle. My passenger side sticks out when you open it. I have to push it back in every time and i cant find anything on the internet. It would be very welcome to the community I'm sure as there is extensive questions regarding this but no answers. Cheers!

I enjoyed that one - you certainly earned your tea 🫖 I can't remember what I did last time I had the T4 door card off the nearside but I put it all back on to realise straight away I'd forgotten something. All back off again - I'm pleased it's not just me 😁

So I have a 2009 T5 and all I have for keys is one that you stick in the door to open. How can I tell if the lock can open from a remote key and what can I do about getting a key that would work.

I'm looking at getting into converting vans to campers, I've been looking at commercial property to rent to set up, I'm unsure of the usage I would require from the premises, I think it's B classification, can you confirm that, also is there anything I need to be aware of regarding operating times, I'd like the freedom of being able to work when I like, my first van I'd be trying to convert as quickly as I can to start earning so I'll be working long days if I can, but do you know if there is a distance limit to housing areas, some of the property I've seen are quite close to housing areas, thank you

Great video. Really helpful. Any tips for how to get the door card off the passenger door that will not open so that the mechanism can be fixed??

Simon. I had to do this the other day on my T5 door totally shut unable to open - there is a vid on YT but essentially you remove the seat (for space). Pull the plastic away from the door pillar - remove the plastic step - it’s a bitch but it will come out. Then do all the steps here to remove window winder and screws - the 3 at the base are a pain but you can get to them if the steps out. The door card is then removed - work from left to right if in the van. The hard bit is near the dash but with care and sweat it will come off - then do the steps to hold the window - disconnect wires etc - you can then see the lock module behind the inner door skin - you can break it and wind a wheel to release the lock but I resorted to smashing it with a screwdriver etc - in a few mins the door opened - you need a new module and an award if you keep your cool - good luck

Hi Leigh, is there a reason that you didn't sound deadening the door skin while it was exposed? 🤔 I'm wondering why all those other vids avoid removing the window carrier when you made it look so fuss free...perhaps I'll attack the last of the sound deadening after all.
